Exactly where you want to stay to explore the Old Town without being smack bang in the middle of it. The hotel is approx 150 metres from the edge of the Old Town, and steps away from two or three of Tallinn's highest ratest restaurants (Restoran O and Museum).
Hotel is nice and modern, with a nice terrace to the front where a good beer can be had while watching Tallinn go by. Found staff to be very helpful, good English speakers and happy to direct you where you'd like to go. Booked a 'Standard', which was extremely nice to be fair, and was upgraded to 'Deluxe', which was nicer again. Both rooms well worth the money. The pool / steam room / sauna on the top floor were a nice way to refresh with beautiful, beautiful views of the city and the setting sun.

The hotel is very modern, clean and with helpful staff. Check-in was smooth. I stayed in a business class room on the 5th floor, the room was big, very clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi, small gym (only 3 machines but good quality) and a lovely spa. The pool is not for doing laps, rather for relaxation only. It is on a busy street so I had some fears about the noise level but I guess it is well-isolated. It was quiet. To me the only downside was that the hotel was almost fully booked on one morning and the breakfast staff were struggling to keep up. Otherwise I found no fault and will stay in this hotel again in summer when traveling with my family for leisure.

My wife & I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Nordic Hotel. i will base my review on my opinion of this hotel giving both the good & not so good points. so lets get down to business.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When checking in if you are intending to order drinks to your room, order drinks at the pool or order anything else & want it charged to your room then you must give the person checking you in your card details. They do not ask for this so its up to you to provide it. Its inconvenient is your soaking wet at the pool, looking a beer & told you will need to go to your room & get money!

Getting To The Hotel From The Airport: Ok when you arrive at Tallinn airport just exit the front of the arrivals area. Outside board "Bus 2" which will cost 1.50 euro payable from the driver. We paid but to be honest we were the only ones who did. It seems no one pays. So you can either pay or just walk on from the middle doors & not bother. the drivers dont seem to bothered if you pay or not. In fact ours seemed a bit shocked when we went to pay lol!
Bus to goes all the way through Tallin to the port. Stops for about 5 minutes at the port then begins the journey back to the airport. When you get on, stand up near the driver, ask him to drop you off at the stop near the hotel. he will know which stop is the right one. There really is no way of knowing where to get off yourself so its best if you let him tell you. When you get off at the stop, cross directly over the street, turn right, walk to the end of that street, you will see a crossing, walk across the street, turn left, walk along there a few 100 meters & you will see the Nordic Hotel on your right. Its not hard but make sure & ask the bus driver.

Hotel Location: The hotel is located about 5 mins walk from Tallinns "Old Town". Other than staying the the old town itself you really couldnt get much closer but still just the right distance away from the massive crowds. To get to the old town from the hotel just exit the hotel, turn right, keep waliking untill you reach a rd crossing, go across, turn left, you will pass some bars on your right, then at the end of these bars turn right & you will see the gates of the old town. So simple & so close. The hotel is located on a main rd but the noise is not an issue whatsoever.

Rooms: Our room was on floor 5, number 553. It was at the back of the hotel, very quite with a slight view of the old town. The room was not very large but enough room. There are blackout blinds which come in handy if you are staying in summer as the Estonian days are very long (sunset 12 midnight-sun rise 3am). bed was very very soft as were pillows, my wife & I had sore backs by the end of our stay. There is a great safe for keeping your valuables in, a mini bar well stocked & lots of storage for clothes. It was 30 degrees when we visited though & the room was very hot. The air conditioning could not cope & the temp inside the room never dropped below 22 degrees which made sleeping a bit tough. The washroom was a good size, good powerful wetroom shower, lots of hot water. There is a hairdrier but no tea or coffee making facilities, no robes for putting on & although there is an ice machine in the hall, there is nothing to carry the ice in. The room was very quite so if a very soft bed & sweltering heat dont annoy you you'll be fine. Rooms cleaned & towels changed every day.

Facilities; On the top floor you have the "Relax Centre". Its a heated swimming pool, warm jaccuzzi, lots of comfy loungers, sauna & steam room. There is also a running machine, bike & cross trainer. The pool is clean, a decent size. The jaccuzzi is lovely after a hard days sightseeing. The suanas are seperate but the steam room is comunial. The steam room is very hot, I liked it but I noticed many found it way to much. You can have drinks whilst in the centre. I would say have a strawberry margareta, yum. You get one towel when you arrive at the pool, after that if you want another its 1.50 euro which i thinks a bit of a bummer! Changing rooms are clean & plenty of secure lockers. To be hoenst unless its late evening there really was not many using the centre & we had it to ourselves alot. great views of Tallinn from the centre too.

Staff: Staff are fine. Friendly & efficent.

Breakfast: This was a total nightmare! Don't get me wronge, the food was fine. The problem is that there is to many people staying there & the actual area where the food is layed out is not big enough. Its a real feeding frenzy! I was scared of someone spilling a hot drink on me cause people where pushing behind me. It just was a badly layed out affair. There was a big shortage of places to sit, even though there was another large area curtained off that had lots of tables & chairs! People were just wandering about looking a place to sit. Also if you even left your table for a second the girls would clear it & someone else would be sitting there when you got back with your coffee! i can not stress how bad a set up this really is! Someone really will get scalded in this place.

All in all I would stay here again purely for the value & location but there is a good few issues they need to smooth out.

This hotel has a perfect location just next to the old town and is easy to find by using the hotel sokos as a landmark (you can pretty much see this place from anywhere in town). Rooms were comfortable and spacious, modern and kept very clean. It has a spa on the 8th floor which was a lovely place to sit and relax with views over the old town. Great breakfast on offer with the usual continental offerings but also the full english breakfast if that's what you fancy. Prince Albert was staying in the hotel as it also houses the Consulate of Monaco and he was starting an electric car race - so probably security is not so tight normally! The only bad point is that the hotel bar closes at 11pm in the week, midnight on Friday and Saturday and there are no facilities for tea/coffee making in the room. Lots of comfortable lounge space and free wifi is available everywhere in the hotel.
We paid 75eur a night double B&B and this hotel is a bargain at that price.

A great hotel in a great position, literally 5 minutes walk from the town.
Rooms are kept very clean, we had a superior double room that was excellent and came with a large bathroom that had a separate toilet, shower and bath. Comfy large 4 poster style bed with LCD TV on a swivel stand. Plenty of storage for clothes. table and chairs etc.
Great facilities in the hotel included a superb swimming pool/spa area on top floor looking out to the town.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of food to choose, (smoked salmon was really nice).

Tallinn is a lovely town and easy to walk around, two days is enough to see all the main sites and had a really great time.

Restaurants
Old Hansa:- I hate being ripped off so Don`t bother with `Old Hansa` it is overhyped and overpriced, yes as the guide books say it is very authentic with people in medieval costumes and aimed for tourists, problem was at first the menu was a little difficult to understand and we did finally work it out we did not fancy any of it – especially at the prices they were charging..!!

Clazz:- We went to `Clazz` Restaurant opposite (recommended by our hotel reception) and this was fantastic, I had Duck leg in a Beetroot sauce and it was beautiful, best I have ever had, Estonian food at a reasonable price so definitely worth coming here.

Kohvik Moon:- In the new up and coming port district 5 mins north of the town (15-20 min walk from the hotel) is well worth a visit.
Not well known by tourists as its out of the town and is easily missed but it is fabulous, run by one of Estonias top chefs it is a little gem.
The Steak was lovely…and the desserts…!!!

I choose to come to Tallin as I had had one day here on a business trip a few years ago, liked what I saw so put it on the list of places to visit and glad I did, had a really nice break and would visit here again someday.

Please note that I have only given the restaurant of this hotel 3 stars in my review, this is only because we did not have evening meals here so cannot rate it.

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day stay in the Nordic Hotel Forum. This was our first trip to Estonia and Tallinn and this hotel. We had room 808 on the top floor, facing out towards the main street and up towards the old town. Some people seem to have commented that these rooms were noisy but we had no problems. Yes you can hear the trams and cars but it is a city after all.

The room was large with 2 single beds ( this was a little annoying as we had requested a double bed). There was plenty space to walk in the room without fearing you were going to hit your legs and feet on the furniture. The beds were very comfortable and couldn't be faulted. The bathroom was large with a large bath and good shower over the bath (toilet and sink too!). The room was clean though I felt the the bathroom could have been a little cleaner. A bit of bleach would have done wonders.

The breakfast was nice with plenty choice.

Location wise the hotel was great. Just across the road from the entrance to the old town. The staff we really helpful and nice.

We didn't eat in the main restaurant, Monaco but we did have room service and drinks in the bar which were good. A pint of local beer and a glass of sparkling wine in the hotel bar was only 5 euros which seemed pretty reasonable to us.

We didn't make it to the swimming pool though did you to look at it and it looked lovely.

My only two minor complaints were that the towels in the room were quite poor quality (though after they were replaced they were better so maybe we just got old ones the first time) and the toilet roll was horrid! I know silly complaints but there is really very little to comment on the hotel was so good.

Free wifi throughout the hotel was a big plus.

We would definately return.
