“Did you know?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

The museum was interesting. I recommend getting the audio guide, even though you quickly get bored with the "Did you know?" beginning to almost every description.

We were disappointed with the rooftop café though. We got to the top at 17:10 but they wouldn't serve tea or coffee (they were "cleaning the machines" apparently) , even though they were open until 18:00.

“Maritime Exhibits”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

Artifacts and pictures from maritime history of Tallinn are displayed over three floors of the far Margaret tower. The exhibition it self is very interesting. I agree with some earlier reviews that not much information in English which may bore some people. Also it was bit dark in some places for which you have put extra effort to notice and read.

At the roof top there you can have a nice view of surrounding. Also a roof top coffee shop.

The museum opens at 9 AM which was helpful as we arrived with Tallink express at 7 AM. The Entry is free with Tallinn card.

“Needs rehashing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

Many of the things in the museum are interesting but English texts were sometimes missing and I also think the exhibition doesn't guide you in a logical way through Estonian maritime history.

“Leopard seal photos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

The permanent exhibits are interesting and tell the story of Tallinn and its sea history. What stood out for me was a temporary Polar exhibition, particularly the National Geographic pictures on show immediately inside the white space. One photographer's story of his love of the polar regions as he dived with seals - the leopard seal in particular - known to be dangerous, but he was FED live and dead penguins by a female seal once she decided he wasn't a threat. Amazing footage.
