“KGB Museum Tour is a MUST do when in Tallinn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

We did not stay at the hotel as we were staying in the Old Town, but we went on the KGB Museum tour to the mysterious "23rd Floor" (cue mysterious music :) )....

The tour lasts for about 1 hour and you head up in the lift to the 22nd floor where the guide gives a fascinating introduction, before sending you through a door marked "No Entry" in Estonian and Russian, up a flight of concrete stairs to the 23rd floor, where the KGB listening room is.

Our wonderful guide Margaritte (I hope that's how her name is spelt) engaged us with fascinating and jaw dropping stories about life in the hotel from 1974 until 1991, when the KGB, as she put it, left in rather a hurry after the Estonian people had risen up to rid themselves of their Soviet dictatorship. Having looked at the Managers office and been told about how staff were remunerated and rewarded, we were finally taken to the KGB listening room, which still has some of the listening equipment intact.

I would definitely recommend is tour to anyone visiting Tallinn as it gives a flavour of life behind the Iron Curtain, a very recent history. What it also made us think about is what propaganda was and is - we are amazed by the propaganda of that era, but do we quests the subtle and pervasive propaganda that we still face today.......?

“Beautiful view, excellent location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

This hotel is very old, but nice and comfortable. Rooms are not luxury, but has all necessary. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is just in the heart of Tallinn.
Breakfast is very good; no complaints. Also there is a lot of restaurants in the nearest area. I can especially recommend you Lido - buffet-style restaurant in the Solaris mall (approx. 200 m from hotel -> ask somebody how to get it). It not super 5-star restaurant, but food very versatile, testy and cheap. Me & my wife likes it very much and go there every time, when visit Tallinn.

If you like sushi, Silu sushi bar is fantastic. Address is Kullassepa 4, Tallinn. It is in 10 min walk from hotel. Dinner for two is 50€, with japanese tea and great sushi food.

So, Tallinn is beautiful city with a lot of things to do and places for visiting. If you go there you don't regret! :)

If you have something questions, pls contact me.

“Good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

I stayed here for 4 nights in February 2013. At check-in I upgraded to a superior room. The room was quite big and nice. The Tv had some englishspeaking channels as: BBC World and Euronews. Check-in and check-out was fast and Nadja in reception was very serviceminded. But a little sad that I couldn¨t register these nights at my Nordic Choice cardas I've booked the trip through Expedial
The breakfast was very good and had a lot of choiches.
I also tried the Ilu salon at the hotel and the pedikur for men was good.
So all in all a very good hotel.

“Just great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

I was on that hotel 3 night, including new years eave. It was amazing experience as the hotel had everyhting - sauna, beauty salong, great service, good breakfast. Especially we loved the new years show at the hotel. The good plus was that I could go from hotel to the big shopping centre without going out. It was great as it was winter and very cold outside. The hotel was only 5 minutes away from old town, so we also visited famous Estonian Christmas market.
