“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013

This hotel is nice and in very good location. We liked the breakfast, it was delicious. The service was friendly. You can go to Viru Keskus shopping mall directly from hotel's lobby. The hotel is near Old Town.

This very special hotel was an interesting experience. Joining a group for a week-end's hard work, it offered comfortable sleeping, practical facilities and an exciting story. Be sure to visit the KGB museum at the top floor, and enjoy the magnificent view.

Built in the Soviet era to collect tourists in a place they could be bugged and followed, the modernized hotel provides contemporary hotel services, but with a flair of (n)ostalgic heritage from the Soviet days, such as the Currency bar with its decorations.

The breakfast hall is huge, there are several restaurants, pubs and bars, and direct (indoor) access to a large shopping centre is very convenient. Just a short walk from the hotel is the gate to the magnificent Tallinn Old Town, well worth a visit.

This is the only hotel that I have stayed at that has it's own museum. On the 23rd floor there used to be offices of the KGB. Guests were spied on from there. Being a guest at the hotel you can get a discount on the museum tour, which takes about an hour.
The breakfast hall was huge and was very busy although you'd not have to wait long for your food. They work well and fast. Speaking of breakfast, we had to check out of the hotel at 6am (before breakfast opens) so the breakfast staff prepared breakfast for us at 5am. I was impressed with the service.
In the hotel you have a restaurant, a pub and a night club. Also the hotel is 'attached' to a large shopping centre.
It is located on the edge of Old Town. The walls of Old Town are diagonally across the road from the hotel.
if / When I revisit Tallinn I will stay here again.

I stayed for 5 nights. Clean, quiet, very good location, excellent breakfast. The room was quite small. The hotel is very big. Dining room is like a stadium. Not very personal. If t the price was not much too high I would rate it better..

A typical family hotel in the Nordics. Not as good as for example Scandic hotels are but quite decent on every aspect and the price was reasonable. The location is excellent, everything is near including a mall attached to the hotel.

Beware of the automatic sensors in the minibar. Unlike 99% of other hotels this one doesn't allow you to put your own stuff in the fridge. Additionally it'll charge you if you accidentally remove anything from it.

This modern hotel is situated in the perfect city center, just some steps from old town. The room was comfortable and clean, could have been little bit bigger but it is ok if you don't have much luggage. If you book by them, ask for the room on high floor and on the seaside part - you will have an extraordinary view on old town and on the bay of Tallinn.
I liked also the breakfast, the only thing - they could include one free espresso in the menu.
The hotel is connected directly to the big commercial center - so it was very comfortable, especialy now with cold winter temperatures, to go to do some shopping without going out at all.
The staff is very nice and accomodating.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor and view on old town! ;)

The reason that we chose this hotel is the fact that the location is excellent, you have easy access to other destinations, shopping and old town. Also the hotel's long history is quite fascinating and the service is friendly. We were offered a higher classified room at 20 euros additional rate and we took it. However it's not worth paying. You have sofa, 2 little bottels of water, a possibility to cook coffee/tea - we had only 2 portions of coffee available. Additionally you can find hard-washed bathrobes and slippers tightly rolled in the cabinet. Breakfast was average but there was something to be desired concerning the dressing of waiting staff - one dish collector had fashionable trousers, which left too much naked of her buttocks - it is not nice when others are having their breakfast. At any case we can warmly recommend this hotel.
