We got upgraded to an Executive Suite which was fantastic! The room was huge with flat screen tv, free movies, free water, bathrobe, slippers, etc. Everything was very modern and clean. They even had free fruit and magazines by the lift for anyone to take. We also had a beautiful view over the whole of the old town and across the harbour. Breakfast was really good, they had everything that you would want for breakfast - all meats, breads, bacon, eggs, fruits, etc.

The hotel was an easy 10-15min walk to the old town. There is a little store right outside for snacks and drinks. Staff are efficient and they had a secure room to leave luggage as well as plenty of taxis waiting outside.

Staying at Hotel Olumpia in January was a real pleasure in terms of great service, English-speaking friendly staff, room comfort and quality, and reasonable prices. My room had a good street view, but not too noisy. Fast Wifi is free and throughout this hotel. The conference facilities are top-notch and the entire hotel is clean and modern and everything works as it should. The hotel has a restaurant and pub of excellent value too. Perfect for a business traveller, I'd also recommend the hotel for those looking to see Tallinn as tourists. The charming old town was a brief 15 walk away and friendly hotel staff will gladly point the way. In addition, there is a mall (and ATM) and Supermarket one block away from the hotel for just about anything might have forgotten to bring along. I'd love to stay here again!

I stayed at the Reval for a night on business, and thank God it was only one night. I think I got about 2 hours sleep!

First, the good. The staff were all very polite and helpful (although one had terrible body odour) and the restaurant and the breakfast it served was of a good solid standard - the sort of thing you'd expect from a middle-tier business hotel.

However, the free wi-fi was incredibly slow (dial-up speeds) which is a real problem if you have work to do before your meeting the next day. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and the interior was rather drab and depressing (not a patch on the excellent new more Nordic-inspired Reval Elizabete in Riga). What's more there is no scope for absorbing and damping noise anywhere in the hotel. The floors are wood, the doors loud and metallic so you can hear every step someone makes as they loudly make their way back to their rooms throughout the night, slamming the doors as they go. Between that and the traffic noise it was nigh on impossible to get a wink.

Bathroom was reasonable (although like most hotels the shower head is designed for short people so those of us who eat our greens and don't smoke have to stoop down).

Will probably being staying elsewhere on my next trip to Tallinn.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights over last weekend. My stay got extended to 3 nights from 2 as the airport had to ground the planes due to blizzards!

luckily my other half is staying there for 2 weeks on business, so I was able to go back to this hotel rather than one allocated by my airline.

We really like the hotel. The service from all the staff is excellent, from the reception, the cleaners to the restaurant and bar staff. the food in the restaurant is very good, we had a couple of lunches and dinner there one evening and it was superb.

the rooms, as others have said are fairly small. We had an executive room which had extra shower gells, bathrobes etc. We did think there wasnt a great deal of wardrobe space, which seeing as Alan is there for 2 weeks on business is not sufficient when you have shirts to hang up.

we didnt find any problems with noise from other rooms and the view over Tallinn is superb.

the walk from the old town is fairly non descript, but its not far, even in thick snow, so not really a hardship.

Taxis are available outside if you need them and I noticed a bus stop about 100 yards away but not sure which route that was.

If you are there for 3 or more nights you can get a 10% discount card off your food and drinks, which is handy - and can be the card you use for the safe - as it just needs a magnetic strip.

we liked the safe idea of using a card as its simple, no numbers to key in etc., and you do usually need to carry a card of some sorts with you when in a big city!

all in all the hotel is a superb place and would definately recommend for either a business or pleasure trip to Tallinn

  • Liked — superb restaurant food
  • Disliked — lack of hanging space due to small wardrobes
