“Best hotel in St Petersbourg”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel and from the moment I walked in the door I knew I had found somewhere special. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.I had booked a superior room and it was spacious and the bathroom absolutely spotless. There was no noise from the street below at night even though it is situated just a few minutes from the main square. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the eggs and bacon were freshly cooked to order.
Tallinn itself is charming and I found the people very friendly and the service I received in all the restaurants was first class.I could recommend Gelsomino which is a newly opened Italian restaurant a few minutes walk away.Come out of the hotel and turn right and it is at the end of the street just across the road. The food and service from the waitresses made it a memorable evening.
As someone who enjoys city breaks, this has been one of the best.

Room Tip: A superior room on the top floor was worth the extra money

Booked here for two days because of Trip Advisor Reviews and couldn't have been happier. Great location, beautifully appointed rooms, wonderful service and a breakfast that took us through the day. And such a sense of history. Definitely the best.

This wonderful little hotel is located in the heart of Tallinn, under the city walls and just steps from Town Hall Square and all the old town sites. The hotel was just renovated, so rooms while not huge are extremely well equipped and extremely comfortable - in fact they spoiled us for other hotels in the following itinerary as we travelled to Riga and Vilnius. the hotel has a very nice casual dining experience in the lower level for breakfast (excellent buffet) and dinner if you so desire (but there are literally dozens of other restaurants around the old town area). The hotel also has a more formal bar and restaurant on its main level. Rooms are on three floors but has no elevator. Being in the heart of the old town, guests really have to be prepared to walk everywhere (which come as no surprise) and have to expect some noise from the surrounding area.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the side street will have some early evening noise from nearby restaurants and bar...

From the second we walked through the door of this lovely hotel, we knew that we were in for a treat for our 3 night stay. We had the warmest welcome from Kasper who gave us a map of Tallinn straightaway and pointed out places of interest. Our room 108 was very clean and the complimentary water and chocolates, left in our room daily, were a nice touch, as were the weather forecast sheets. (how may hotels are so thoughtful?) The bathroom had luxurious toiletries, with hairdryer, magnifying mirror, scales, bathrobes and slippers - everything we needed.

The staff, who could speak English, genuinely seemed to want our stay to be as special as it could be. They were polite and efficient but also really friendly and approachable - nothing was too much trouble. They even ordered a taxi for our departure, carried all our luggage to the taxi and stood and 'waved us off'.

The hotel is in a perfect location - comparatively quiet, but close to the main square and other places of interest. The Old Town is quite compact and it's wonderful to stroll round and marvel at all the medieval buildings and Rapunzel-style towers, especially from the concrete viewing platforms. (Be careful when walking on the cobbled streets though - wear sturdy shoes!!) Tallinn is a photographer's dream with something to admire at every turn.

The breakfasts were excellent. There was a table spread with cold meats, fish, cereals etc but you could also order hot food, cooked to your liking, from friendly staff dressed in Estonian costumes. My husband kept enthusing about the pancakes but I particularly liked the jams and mouth-watering selection of fresh fruit. The décor was great with tables and shaped wooden chairs straight out of a fairy-tale. Providing daily news sheets in various languages was another thoughtful gesture.

We couldn't fault this hotel - the staff, the location, the food, value for money, cleanliness. We hope to return to Tallinn one day and can't wait to stay again at the St Petersbourg Hotel. Thank you again to Kasper and others who have given us such wonderful memories.

Room Tip: There is no lift so some may find the ground floor more convenient. However, the staff are so accom...

I was travelling with my father, who is 80 years old. Then, I asked about a room at the same floor of the reception, since the hotel doesn't have a lift.
We were upgraded to the Junior Suite before arriving: a quiet, large, well furnished room, with a good size bathroom and comfortable beds (although the pillows are very soft).
The reception was able to do our stay as comfort as possible: they even printed our boarding pass to our departure flight. Special thanks to Kasper.
The location of the hotel is not far from the main square, an easy walk to every part of the medieval city of Tallinn, even to Toompea, with good restaurants around it.
Without doubts, a wonderful option in Tallinn.

Room Tip: The Junior Suit is a good option and it's at the same floor of the reception, good for the elder...

My wife and I stayed at the St Petersbourg Hotel for two nights in early June and had an excellent experience there. The hotel is the one of the oldest in Old Town Tallinn (a big part of its appeal) but the common areas have been completely renovated and are very impressive. Our room, # 109, was spacious and well equipped, very modern and hi-tech yet comfortable and cozy. The bed was excellent as was the breakfast in the downstairs restaurant, a very nice presentation with lots of choice. The hotel location was very good but in fact it would be hard to imagine a bad location in Old Town Tallinn as it is quite small and easily covered on foot. The hotel was also an excellent value in an expensive town but the best thing about the St Petersbourg was the staff - very friendly and accommodating and genuinely interested in our satisfaction. We would love to return to Tallinn someday and would definitely stay at the St Peterbourg Hotel again..

Room Tip: Take advantage of the hotel's complimentary private sauna, which can be reserved for an hour in...

We stayed for one night at this hotel. It is a beautiful, charming hotel with a lot of character. The staff is really friendly and go out of the way to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast is very well presented and the staff at the restaurant also bend over backwards to accommodate your needs.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a junior suite - it faces the street and is very nice ad spacious. If you do no...
