“Fun place to stay in Tallinn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Location:
In the old town, very close to the bus station to go to the airport, close to the malls, department store right opposite the hostel, McD and other restaurants are 2 to 3 mins walking distance. 5/5 for the location.

Directions:
The directions form hostelworld over email are misleading. The way to get to this hostel is to get off at the bus stop for bus 2 from the airport, walk into the Viru mall and come out form the exit towards the old town. You will see a Hesburger on your right. Take the right at the end of the Hesburger (Need not walk past the flower market or the Viru gates, as mentioned by hostel world). Keep walking and you will find the Rimi super market on your left right opposite it there is hotel Bern walk into the courtyard and on the right side you will find the hostel emperor door , go to the first floor and they will let you in.

People:
The people at the reception are friendly and they give you all the information to travel around where to eat etc. The map at the hostel is really good

Rooms:
The rooms were spacious . I Stayed in a 4 bed mixed dorm there was plenty of space to keep bags and the beds were comfortable. I was in Emily room and the door kept banging due to the breeze and since it opens to the road there was lot of noise at night. There are no lockers in the room, which is very inconvenient.

Bathrooms:
Most days there is a queue to get into the shower in the mornings. Also to go to the showers and toilet you need to walk past the reception and the kitchen area. There were only 2 showers for all the rooms. The showers and toilet weren't the cleanest.

Super friendly and helpful staff, cheap rates and beer, great location. Great place to meet fellow travellers, but also local Estonians, which pass by the very popular bar right next to the hostel. What else you could possibly ask for?

I only spent one night there but I can say that they have very friendly and helpful staff, the room and common areas were very clean. The location is great, in the old town but very close to shopping centre and supermarket.

Having never stayed in a hostel before I was unsure what to expect, but it was a pleasant enough stay. Room was basic, but served it's purpose. Great location for the old town centre, few minutes walking distance. Staff were friendly and bar/hostel was clean. Supermarket literally over the road, so don't about bringing toiletries etc. with you. Good deals through hostel for activities, we went gun shooting for only 40 euros. Just ask at main desk.

First of all; When we arrived we were welcomed with open arms, by really nice staff! In generel the staff here is just amazing - its like they handpicked all the best! The awesome bearded guys and the supernice and friendly girls. The rooms are very clean, and the bed is made, great! The hostel itself is very quiet, even when there is massive partying going on in the bar, which is also really cool. Lots of events, and cheap beer. Commonarea is just great. Kitchen with BIG fridge, and lots of tables and benches. 2 common computers. Big supermarket, just across the street. In generel super social hostel!Do you need staff? I wanna work here!
I say - Go to Red Emperor! Skip Tallinn Backpackers are whatever..

This is not just a hostel, this is an amazing great hostel where friends are made. I checked in and straight of the bat I got welcomed with smiles. The check in was so smooth it was inviting.

I stayed in a 10 bed room, spacious, clean and with a desk and chair. No there's no locker in the room but there are lockers at near reception where there is always someone there 24/7. So security is very good here

Common room is near reception with massive tables, kitchen besides them. it's actually better than I described it. There are two computers free of use but there is free wifi very where.

I got nothing bad to say about this place, it is a party place but very quiet in rooms. Yes people there is a bar attached to it but it's separated with a combination lock door so security is still kept. and noise not a problem.

Room Tip: 10 person room is awesome, with more people to meet

This is such a great hostel! Stay here and you'll never be bored for sure! Go to the bar for some great (and cheap!) drinks and play games like pool and giant jenga. Staff is super fun and friendly and you'll meet some great people here. Travelers that stay in other hostels are also welcome to the bar, so it's a huge party with people from all over the world!
