“Excellent Italian place with an ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

Beautiful restaurant with modern sleek interior, crispy table linen and professional service. Food is delicious, freshly made from very good and authentic ingredients. Own imported wine list, good wines by the glass. It is rather on expensive side, but if you are for business lunch, romantic dinner or celebration, this is good place to be. Reservation is needed, they are popular.

We had six persons from Finland hoping to have a nice Friday evening. Food was just perfect and delicious. Karl-Joosep Tiitso served us very professional way. We definitely come back!

“Good restaurant, that is located off the tourist route”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

If you are only tourist in tallinn, it is likely that you will not find this restorant by chance. It is located off the tourist route and only tourists comming by fairy might walk past it.

Any way, to cut the long story short - this is a very good place to visit. The service is one of the best in Tallinn, and the quality of food is not only Greate, but also stable. This means that there was no time that I would go there for lunch, and be dissapointed in "today's" food.

Starter 8-18 euro, main course - 15-35 euro, dessert - 8-15 euro.

“A real piece of Italy...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

Probably the best Italian secret in all of Northern Europe...

We were staying in the old-town of Tallinn and enjoyed this little break out of the walls to visit Gianni (located in the new-town area) and have a genuine Italian experience. We are very well travelled and have often visited different regions of Italy and this was as close as we ever got in Northern Europe to the real deal.

The setting is lavish but comfortable, the service was attentive but not in your face, they have both a comprehensive dinner menu or a simple lunch menu that makes it ideal for a quick lunch or romantic dinner. Whilst you may need directions to find this place the first time, it is well worth it and the place is popular with those in the know (some locals mentioned they even have their own regular table and come here daily).

What sets Gianni up as not only one of Tallinn's best restaurants but also one of Northern Europe's is the effort they go to seek new and exciting tastes on their menu (we had never seen anywhere else before some items on their menu), quality of ingredients but also making it a comfortable atmosphere that you want to keep going back to visit.

If you know real Italian and you love real Italian add Gianni to your 'must try' list if your a local or just visiting Tallinn.

“good food and service”

Welcomed with open arms with food to match. Lasagne was the best and the pizza was plentiful and juicy.
