“Original but disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2014

I can't fault the Nuku Puppet Theatre Museum for original displays - way too original in some cases and the kids got a bit confused. We went during the week following Easter. There was no one in the museum. We went in the afternoon with the promise of participating in the puppet workshops between 2 and 5pm. However, once we actually got to the room, we were met by two girls who unenthusiastically informed us that we had to fork out an extra 3.50 euros on top of the 14 euros we paid to get in to participate. Major letdown. On a positive note, their coffee shop is very cheap, very nice and has a play area. I would not venture much further however.

“Nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Nice location, affordable tickets, lots to see. Possibility to send an e-card. QR-codes lead the way, nice! Workshops and puppet history. Basement's cave of horrors was scary and made us laugh.

“Fun little steampunk moving window display”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Didn't visit the museum but did enjoy the outside window with a moving steampunk display. It performs every half hour or you can call them and they will start it on demand. It only lasts a few minutes but it is entertaining.

“Interesting if not a little disjointed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

A very interesting visit but I found the displays somewhat unconnected. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable just to see the artistry that has gone into creating the puppets themselves.

“Delightful museum, and surprisingly fascinating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

We were so surprised to end up spending such a long time here, but it's absolutely fascinating. A vast array of stunning puppets from all genres of puppet theatre are on show, alongside genuinely interesting descriptions and a selection of interactive exhibits that would keep kids entertained for a while. From the giant characters suspended in the courtyard to the fish tanks in the bathrooms, it's a bizarre but brilliant attraction.

I went with two friends, all of us keen photographers, and we had an absolutely wonderful time exploring and photographing the gorgeous creations on show. Definitely worth an afternoon's visit.
