Wonderful, friendly experience. Everyone that was staying there ended up hanging out, along with the guy who was working there, and we all had a blast. It was very homey and the free traditional breakfast on Tuesday was awesome. The room was a little cold, but I'm told that's pretty standard for Vilnius.

Myself and friend Jonathan, really rated our stay with Lina and Malcom.

Lina was brillent with maps, help places to go, bus and train timetables.

Also you get a great glass of wine !!

Standard stuff spotlessly clean, comfortable and nice.

Location is excellent near the airport, bus and train station and also the town centre.

Malcom was great to help us with everything as well, taxi's advice

One of my best hostel experience, if not the best.

You're a solo traveler and do not want to go to a busy 200-bed dorms full of groups leaving you alone ? Do you want to meet new people from all around the world, from any age ? Do you want to go out and meet locals, see lituanian traditions and taste its food and drinks ? And most of all, do you want to enjoy the best (so far and ever) host's welcome ?

I don't know what you're waiting for then. This little 12-beds hostel is top-class. Most of the reviewers said it all already. Lina is just so wonderful: she helps you with everything, suggest you to run off-path, make everyone go out on evening and shows us such typical places... !

The only disadvantage I see is if you're looking for a fancy hostel full of bright colors and so on. No, HMH is not as "cosy" as a few ones might be, but - sorry ! this does not make the feeling of the place. The lounge area & kitch is small - but probably it does also add to the charm.

As for the basics, others reviews said it already: wonderful beds, great rooms, great prices, etc. Just note that the 6-bedroom has no door so you can hear people from downstair (but people respect each other, so no problem !); also, there is only one shower and two toilets (although I do not suggest you to go to the top one, except if you're quite small ;)). Still, the small number of these facilities was not a real problem, even with 12 people - just go take your breakfast and chit-chat while you're waiting for the shower to be available.

Last but not least - I was wondering if my experience was unique because I met wonderful people while staying at HMH - so nice that we decided to do our solo-planned trip in Lithuania all together.
Reading from others, it seems that this place has really something to group strangers together - and surely Lina is for something there...

Thanks a lot, Lina !

Room Tip: The 4-bedroom and double are quieter.

I've stayed in a lot of hostels across the globe and whilst many of them have been good none have been so great as to motivate me to write a review online. Until now.

We'll get the standard stuff out the way first. The place is spotlessly clean, linen, floors, bathrooms, the whole lot. There is free wi-fi, which admittedly I couldn't access on the top floor dorm, but you'll only want to be up there to sleep. The beds were among the comfiest bunk beds I've slept in and being in a courtyard set back from a quiet road there was virtually no street noise. It is also ideally situated for exploring Vilnius' beautiful old town.

What makes this place exceptional though are the people. Lena, the owner, was away travelling herself when I arrived so her friend, Renata, was running the hostel. Friendly, warm, charming, inviting, helpful, I could go on. I have never experienced anything like it in a hostel before and doubt I will again. Shortly after arriving I was invited to dinner with the rest of the hostel guests and over a cup of coffee she produced a map of city on which she marked her personal recommendation of places to go.

The way they treat their guests here really creates a sense of community among those staying in the hostel and had five complete strangers from different corners of the planet laughing, going for dinner/beers and taking day trips together. It's unique and it really does feel like you are sharing a home with a group of friends.

Next time I'm in the region I'll be making another stop in Vilnius just so I can stay here again!

great & bright rooms, very comfortable beds, lovely atmosphere, quiet but central lylocated (old town), free wifi and most of all excellent service (whatever you need to know, the owner will help before you can actually ask her to :)
all in all a fantastic hostel which actually feels more like a home of a friend!

The hostel is clean and modern, the staff friendly and helpful, and the rooms lovely.

We stayed in a private room on the top floor, with a rooftop view and shared bathroom - very private and the room was comfortable, clean and quiet - and very spacious.

The owner was friendly - treating us to a glass of Lithuanian wine or two - and gave great advice about what to do and see in the city.

In our trip across the Baltics, this was the number one hostel we stayed in.

Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: Go for a private double if travelling as a couple.

Absolutely loved staying here! The staff were so welcoming and caring and friendly, made us feel at home. It was Easter the weekend we were there, and the staff prepared us a traditional Lithuanian Easter breakfast (to which we contributed hot cross buns) and invited us to participate in their Easter celebrations. 5 minute walk from the train station and to the Old Town Square. The 4 bed dorm on the top floor had charming slanted ceilings and the beds were very comfortable, with drawers under the bunks for storage. Very clean, very inviting, felt like home, definitely staying here again!
