“Cute and Great Location in Old Town Vilnius”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2010

Stayed here in late August 2010 to attend a colleague's wedding. The hotel is very cute--housed in a quirky old building, rooms are not given numbers but instead the names of famous historic authors and are decorated accordingly, many with enormous murals on the walls. The staff spoke great English and were helpful in carrying luggage, calling taxis, etc., but we were rather rudely denied a request for late check-out in order to accommodate logistics for the wedding.

It is in a very convenient spot in the already small Old Town; you can walk right out the door and begin sightseeing. One big plus was the complimentary breakfast--it was one of the best hotel breakfast options I've ever had. Unlike the sparse buffets elsewhere we were given extensive menus and were allowed to pick from hearty options like omelets, pancakes, and full english breakfasts made to order.

At 113 euros/night I thought I'd had better value elsewhere (carpets and linens could use a bit of updating, etc.) but was good for a short trip.

A great European hotel on a quiet street in old town Vilnius. The staff was excellent. Breakfast, included, was ordered off a menu. The best we have had in Europe. Try the Lithuanian eggs! Given the low cost of traveling in Lithuania, we upgraded to a superior room - "Oscar Wilde" room. See pictures. After weeks of traveling in wonderful hotels, this hotel is a favorite. Our separate sitting area provided a nice relief from the typical "bedroom" feel of hotel rooms.
And each room had its individual controlled AC. The bathroom had a controlled heated floor. It would be worth coming back here in the winter to try this!

Lithuania is a country that should appear more prominently on everyone's travel maps!!

Nice breakfast, bar lounge. Well located. Coffee shop at corner has great desserts and very interesting design elements.

Excellent values throughout. Despite EU membership, Lithuania has retained their currency.

There to explore Jewish Lithuanian roots. Incredible guide: Regina Kopilevich. Google her.

Nice boutique hotel with old english decor and great location near the main squares in Vilnius. It was Euro 104 p.n. for single person which is not bad, breakfast included. Staff was friendly and spoke English.

Great hotel - but take your time during breakfast. Funny rooms with free wireless internet and friendly staff.

Amazing hotel right in the heart of the old town. Warm reception from friendly and efficient staff, they couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is extremely cosy and quirky and a welcome change from the modern minimal style that a lot of hotels chose these days. Breakfast was from an extensive a la carte menu and the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. The bar is the perfect place to lounge at the end of a days sightseeing with oversized sofas and fluffy cushions. Our room was a generous size and there was fresh fruit and a small gift on arrival, the only negative was that we had a bath but not a shower because our room was in the eaves on the third floor so it might be worth asking for a 1st or 2nd floor room when booking. Overall we had a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Vilnius.

One of the greatest hotels I have ever stayed at. The interior was amazing, every room had its own name, mainly writers such as "Charles Dickens room", and bookshelves in every corridor, creating an amazing atmosphere, almost a feeling of visiting a famous writer. The rooms also had books and great design carrying on the theme. The rooms were equipped with everything desireable from a hair-dryer to slippers and bath robes. The dining rooms were fantastically decorated and the breakfast was beyond expectations. It was the freshest most amazing food one can ever get at a hotel breakfast. All in all, hotell with amazing style and class!
