The location of this hotel is outstanding. Exactly in the middle of Kaunas busy city centre, right by the main street Laisves aleja. The price of the accomondation is also very outstanding in accordance of what you get.

The Hotel is indeed quite old and it gives you a picture of old Soviet, but the furnitures in our room was new and fresh and the beds was comfortable. The room was VERY spacious with about 3 metres in height and and a big bathroom with separate WC-room and above it all a big balcony facing the main street Laisves aleja that was perfect for late night drinks and to have your smokes on just sitting there and enjoy life.

A big plus also to the big and tasty breakfast buffet that was served in the restaurant next door, bad that you had to take a walk around the corner outside to get to it when it's cold outside, but it's nothing to worry about.

I have nothing to complain about this hotel and I must say that I very much disagree with other peoples reviews, because it isn't that bad as you all say. The house itself is old but the inside is very fresh, clean and spacious and I have to say that it's really underpriced, I could never imagne to get that much for such a little price!

I stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago and, having read the reviews online, I think they are a mite unfair!

Yes, it is basic - don't expect a Jacuzzi - but the location of this hotel is second to none and the building itself is a part of Lithuania's history; one travellers would do well to frequent and support, for if we don't, it might very easily disappear and be replaced by some awful best-western monstrosity!

I suspect the people complaining are those who wish merely to find the cheapest alcohol in Europe and get beaten up in strip joints – they can stay at home!

I found the hotel and the rooms quite unique, with beautiful high ceilings and many original (though sadly neglected) fittings - but at 70litas a night, you really can't knock it! It's clean after all! Plus, the breakfasts served at Takioji Neris down the road were fabulous!

if you pay £10 for a hotel for a night then dont expect a palace, because palace it is not. the rooms are warm, the bedding clean, the decor was basic, shower suite old fashion but plenty hot, a tv was in the room, the staff were friendly (and not as reported by others) but the hotel was in need of upgrading and it seemed like that was in progress. the location was perfect and next to all shops and public transport.

the breakfast in the morning was fine and was in the hotel resteraunt around 50yds down the street. the food was plentyfull and plenty of choice, but what you expect continental people to eat.

would i stay here again? yes, why not. if you want comfort and 5 star rooms then its not for you, but if you need a place to kip and clean up and be warm then this will suit you.

we are seasoned travellers especially to the old eastern block states, but this hotel is the worst we have stayed in, it was obviously once a majestic city centre hotel that has fallen on hard times, i dont mind budget /basic accomodation that is clean but this was a dirty,flea ridden grotty hovel.
the staff are as unfriendly as the unwanted bed occupants.
stay elsewhere the city is well worth a visit.
