i had checked the reviews and had stayed in a few ibis hotels before and was glad i stayed here, it was right next to the bus station and the train station was only a 5 min walk, the main shopping and eating area was probably about a 20 min walk and the acropolis shopping centre was about a 10 mins walk, the hotel looked really new, the free wi fi was great as trying to find things in kaunas wasnt the easiest, the maps and google maps didnt have things where they should be, we had to use google earth to find places, the breakfast was your standard self service, all the staf were really friendly and there were a few super markets within a few mins walk either way of the hotel

This is an Accor hotel, and surprisingly enough (sarcasm) suffers from dodgy Accor internet syndrome. The woman at reception, who was a very helpful person in general and friendly, told me that they would help me. However, the boy at reception later told me that it was normal that it does not work well and depends on the number of guests staying. He said this in such a friendly, unembarrassed way that it seemed he thought this was normal and par for the course. No, it may be normal for Accor but not in other places! The rooms are not very soundproofed and you can hear plenty of noise from the neighbouring rooms. There was also a strange smell of women's perfume in my room in certain places.

It is conveniently located as regards the bus and rail stations. In terms of Le Club Accor, you do get a welcome drink, but the hotel does not show up in the Places app so you will not help you on your way to badges and extra points.

We booked 2 nights accommodation for a twin room including breakfast over the internet. It was a very good rate and with such good reviews on Tripadvisor, and never having experienced Ibis before, thought this was our opportunity.

The hotel is located adjacent to the bus station and a short flat walk from the railway station. The old town is a bit of a hike, about 30 minutes but the walk is also flat. Theres a market on the same side of the road heading toward the rail station with lots of fresh produce. Also a bakery.

Check in was efficient and quick. Our room was ready, even though we arrived earlier than check in time. The hotel decor is minimalist and modern. Theres a bar and restaurant. It looks very new. Check out was equally efficient. We could leave our luggage after we checked out. Reception staff were very pleasant, professional and accommodating.

Our room, (333) overlooks the bus station. Its basic decor, but really everything you need. Basically small. The window is openable. The beds are hard and the pillow flat. The shower is magnificent. Everything was very clean.
We thought the idling and taking off of the buses together with anoouncements, could be better than the loud a/c system, but kept being woken up, so closed the window and left the noisy a/c system off. Consequently not the most restful sleep, as the room got stuffy.

Wifi was free and fast and available in our room.

Breakfast was a basic buffet style There was enough quantity, but the quality was not there. Strange tasting fruit salad, watery yogurt, weak coffee. There was hot and cold choices like sausage and scrambled eggs and cheese and cold meat, tomato and cucumber. The bread and pastries were very good. A basic and uninviting breakfast room.

I think this place suits people on a tight budget. There are no generous surprises, but the Ibis delivers. If you are happy with a small room, with basic amenities, then this is the place for you.

We think we got value for money.

This Ibis is more comfortable and pleasant than most of the Ibis. It´s just a few metres from the bus or train station, which is most convenient. Breakfast is great and the meals are quite tasty. The staff is very helpful.

Room Tip: Back rooms are quiet and nice.
