Nebra is as close as a 'local', Cheers-esque pub you can ever get to in Kosice. The owners are always glad to see you, and genuinely so; 'Mrs Nebra' is a real people-person and very maternal, and 'Mr Nebra is a very funny guy (at least I believe so, as I have no idea what he's saying most of the time). Even if you come alone, you're bound to make new friends in Nebra; the place is famous for 'bringing people together', as its motto proudly proclaims.
If you aren't in the mood for alcohol and/or are simply on a break during the day, Nebra also has a pretty wide selection of hot chocolate, coffee and tea, and also stocks sandwiches; good for a lunchbreak if you want to escape your colleagues for a while.
Nebra was originally designed to only be a student place, but that is no-longer true: the original regular customers graduated, got jobs, and are still found in Nebra, having a beer, glass of wine or a shot after work. During the week you'll find more students patronising the place, but everyone has a great time: the juxebox is always playing a good selection of music, and you'll always find someone to play table football with. One suggestion: if you want to come after 18:00, get a reservation.
I have so many happy memories of this place (and quite a few missing memories - as other reviewers have said, the shots are very cheap and quite lethal!) and plan to make many more! See you next week, Nebra!
