“Pity it is so quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013 via mobile

This is my second time eating here. The food is v good, well presented and service excellent. My pheasant breast was over cooked which was disappointing. The salad was super with an excellent dressing. The restraunt is very quiet and the staff are just waiting which is a pity because they are effective at what they do. Overall if you are in the hotel or area then try it. It's not cheap but its not targeting that sector.

“V Good Value Set Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

This is the restaurant of Marron's Hotel. Came here to try the fixed price lunch advertised on their website; this proved to be a great bargain at €12.50 for 2 courses & 14.50 for 3 (inc soft drink/water & coffee), with 3 choices for starter & main and one dessert. The restaurant is very comfortable & quite elegantly furnished in a modern style; the service was very good: attentive without being obtrusive.

The food was modern style European and very well cooked; pork cheek was very tasty and a cheese based risotto was cooked perfectly; portion sizes were adequate for a lunch without being huge. There is a good wine list including many local wines; prices are quite high (around €30 upwards) but a Slovakian Dornfelder red that we chose was excellent; they also have a reasonable selection of wines by the glass but the servings are a rather meagre 100ml).

The a la carte prices are much higher (€8-12 starters and €15-20 mains) but would still be reasonable value if the quality we experienced was maintained.

Definitely recommended!

“Quality restaurant in Hotel Marrol's”

Had a very nice dinner with my wife. Service was top notch, fine-dining. Price was very reasonable and the food was worthy of the elegance.

“Nice but pricey for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

They do a cut price business lunch during the week but we ate on a Sunday lunchtime so went a la carte. I had an almost perfectly cooked duck breast, only problem was that the skin wasn't crispy so couldn't be eaten. It was served on a bed of lentils. My wife had pike , or zander as it is on he menu, we both enjoyed our meals but at 50 euro was a bit steep for lunch especially as we had one coke each only. The service was good, very professional, the ambience was slightly let down by the fact the restaurant was very quiet........only one other couple.
