The most amazing thing is that you can find nice corners with fantastic stuff to buy. Try Mayer Caffee or Giraffe Restaurant.

“A CHARMING AREA WITH MUCH HISTORY!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

Ours was just a short day-trip (from Budapest) and the system of sightseeing trams was well organized. The tour explanations, however, were taped and pre-recorded and visitors learn by plugging their ear phones to the respective language channel. The down-side to this sytem is that you cannot ask questions as the tram drivers are not fluent in many languages and are just drivers...not guides. There is no tourist information at the train station and it is a bit chaotic trying to organize a visit. One is dependent on a taxi driver to deliver you to the old town and leave you to find the tram and organize your own visit. Nonetheless, it was doable and worth the time. The old city seemed clean but full of graffiti.

Good for a day & a half in Bratislava. Eat in a local restaurant at lunch time rather than a touristy one. Very good-soup & main course for under €5.

“Interesting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

It's a nice place to walk around. Lots of souvenir booths. I didn't fell there was much to do, I don't think it's worth a separate trip, but it's a nice stop on the way to Vienna.

“A night stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

I liked the small old city and the food, as well as the euro currency.
But its a very dirty city garbage allover the street, even the touristic bus driver dumped smth on the window during tour. The city has little to show, but i appreciated its struggle with the old town and the tourists generally. I wouldnt come back, it is worthed just for a night stop, on your way home. (or somewhere else)
