“Bad food, with service to match.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

Of the more than twenty places we ate at on a recent tour of Eastern Europe Restaurant Prazdroj, in Bratislava, was by far the worst.

To call the food inedible would be too kind by far. On a mercifully quick lunch stop our main dish was a soup containing a huge, dense ball of some very un-appetizing, basically inedible meat-like substance—liver?

Service, if you could call it that, was forced-march paced, unsmiling, and as a spilled beer proved, grudging.

“Something more typical”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

I like this pub for it's location, atmosphere and prices. Oh, beer is always great and you should try 'Plzenske prkynko' - selection of cheese, sausage, bacon and more - yummy.

“who's afraid of garlic?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012

Well, not the cook at Prazdroj! We had delicious garlic and cheese soup, served in bread, followed by garlic ribs with mustard and horseradish. Not a vampire in sight for days after! They do have other traditional food as well, though :) Inexpensive food and fast waiters.

“Your typical Pilsner-Urquell pub.. downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012

That's the typical pilsner bar you can expect, which means hearty central european food served in generous portions, very good beer and cheap prices. Add in it's in the exact center of the city, in front of the philharmonic and 30 meters from the Danube banks and you get a pretty nice place where starting your evening.
The evening i went service was very smooth.

“Never got what I ordered!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012 via mobile

The four of us went to sit at one of the tables outside. Waitress came very quickly to ask what we wanted. We asked for a menu so she went to get them without saying a word. She brought them and threw them at our table again completely silent. Later when she came to ask what we wanted my friend said he wanted a beer. The waitress asked if we wanted three of them and my friend said yes. The waitress immediately stormed away so I had to yell after her that I wanted a red wine. When she came over with the beers, she tried to give us four. I said that we ordered three and a red wine. She nodded, gave us three beers and went away. I never got my wine so we paid and left.
