“Exceptional boutique hotel, definitely recommendable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Location: Out of the city centre in a residential area, there is a bus station right in front of the hotel, which brings you directly to the city centre and back (very confinient, although I usually do not use public transportation)
Check in and welcome: Exceptional friendly, professional and welcoming
Room: we had the room No. 12 on the 2nd floor right under the ceiling (really charming), great room and interior design, not too big, but room enough, L'Occitane products in the bathroom, exceptional clean, only the bed was a bit too hard and the pillows are out of foam and not down
Bar: great bar, attentive staff
Restaurant: exceptional good quality of food, drinks and wine (definitely recommendable), although it is expensive for Slovakia, it is worth every cent, very attentive and friendly staff
Check out: perfect friendly and professional staff
Resume: At least for us it is the place to go when travelling to Bratislava!

Room Tip: 2nd floor, under the roof

All the Pro´s of this hotel have been already highlighted by other reviewers so here is a few small drawbacks: 1) While the hotel restaurant is known for excellent dining, the breakfast was just average, but the eggs and bread were excellent. Don´t expect large buffet, even if fully occupied there is only 12 rooms in the hotel... ; in the room: 2) Design sometimes beats functionality (the lever mixer is out of your reach when sitting in the bathtub; the taps are slippery and difficult to rotate, chairs are heavy to move); 3) The large HD TV set was loaded with just analog signal and limited number of channels; 4) The stairway and corridor in the upper floor can not be ventilated so during warm days it is very hot there; 5) The room to room noise reduction is not ideal.
But in overall it is a really nice place and above average hotel.

Simply a Secret gem in the heart of Bratislava, this hotel is one of the best in the city. The customer service is fabulous, the food is to be truly experienced and savored. To have such a quaint and top quality hotel is a real blessing in the heart of Bratislove. This Hotel is a 5 STAR.

This small hotel is in a beautiful house located in a residential neighbourhood close to the castle. The fact that there was no elevator did not trouble us. We had a beautiful large room, wifi was free, we had massages in the morning which were top. Breakfast was plenty, our cappucinos were charged extra. I would go back there any time. Only drawback was the fact that it was not centrally located. Staff was super nice and helpful!

The Location is out of the town, at the top of a large hill,  which may put some off but not us. The room we had was exceptional. It had one of the biggest bath tubs I have seen in a hotel, with room for two at ease.
A lot of thought  had gone into the design of the hotel. It had a very pretty and cool balcony at the rear on which you can have breakfast or evening dinner.
Would recommend as a true 5x hotel even with the confusion over the swimming pool.
There was confusion over the use of the swimming pool. It seemed unbelievably expensive. Although we may have had a session included in the hotel rate. We don't know. This wasn't clear.

I used to stay in this hotel a lot on my business trips to Bratislava.This is a small design hotel up on the castle hill in the middle of residential neighbourhood. The hotel has a great spa in beatiful modern design. The rooms are all nicely furnished in modern simple style. The hotel restaurant with a nice summer terrace is a great choice in Bratislava and is especially highly recommendable when they make BBQs.
As for the downsides of this facility:
a) the hotel is outside the city center, however it is only a short taxi drive away up the hill;
b) the beds are somehow too hard for me - not like the ones I am used to from other five stars;
c) the breakfasts used to be better - if you want a really good breakfast you need to order from their menu and which takes time and it is sometimes not included in the room price;
d) the spa area closes too early (10pm) which is a shame.
Despite the above, I still believe the hotel is worth a visit and would go there again.

If you want a private retreat from a busy center with an excellent service in a boutique style. Albrecht is a smaller hotel with a very nice spa. The rooms at the 1st floor are slightly smaller. Ask for rooms under the roof. There is no elevator but slightly more steps will pay-off. Just beware the room 1 behind the reception as you will here a lot of traffic and voices from the foier. The hotel staff is always helpful and smiling. Restaurant offers great selection of very tasty meals that you can enjoy on a spacious terrace during a summer time. Spa is very cosy but it is kept quite private so booking ahead is usually necessary. The meeting rooms are quite small as it isnot exactly a business hotel but can hold a smaller group up to 8 people.

Room Tip: The upper you go the more spacious the room. Avoid th eroom on the ground floor behind the reception
