I stayed just for one day in this hotel but i wished i would stay at least a week:) nice swiming pool, jacuzzi and you can drink a cocktail there as well different types of sauna for 2 persons...nice very nice...it worth the price. If you choose breakfast and dinner as well you will not regret it.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

One part of the hotel has been revamped, unfortunately the other one is already very wore off, including the furniture, bathroom, linens and the towels. This part of the hotel is definitely not 4 stars. The restaurant is also very much of the seventies, moreover organized in a way that it gives crowded feeling even if it is not full. The food is also seventies style with a lot of deep fried things (meat, vegetables) for lunch and dinner. The breakfast selection is very limited. The check in/out process was very slow, the staff was not well coping with the process. In general the staff was polite but rather amateur. The hotel offers good entertainment possibilities, including bowling, table football, table tennis, darts, pool, good for corporate events as well. It has also min. 4 conference halls. Visegrad is, however, definitely worth visiting. In the autumn the surrounding forest is full of beautiful colours highlighted by the sunbeams, ideal for long walks. Visegrad castle is a must see, but there is much more to do here.

Room Tip: In the B part of the hotel, which is revamped

We spent a night in this hotel at the beginning of March. The hotel wasn't busy, there was only a couple in the swimming pool and nobody in the saunas. Maybe if the hotel is full the spa facilities couldn't be enough for all the guests. The staff was polite and the room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious with many choices. The only downside of this hotel is the dinner. The main course was tasteless and wasn't fresh.
But overall, I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The hotel - 40-minute away from Budapest - was recently revamped, they offer a great variety of spa facilities (cold water basin, Finnish, bio saunas, salt and steam cabins, but of limited size (4 persons per cabin).
The indoor and outdoor pools are not huge, but surprisingly, sufficient: most guests take the free trips (see below), so it is usually not overcrowded).
The gym facility is a joke (3 pieces of some 15 year old equipment in a small area with 3 dead CDs to play; by size the treadmill is designed for squirrels or kids), but never mind: outdoor running is much more fun (when it is not -10 outside on March 15).
We were accommodated in the older wing of the hotel, the bathroom was not substantially refurbished, but OK.
Food is excellent, but overwhelming: it is just crazy that you find 2 soups, 6 different starters and 4 main dishes, but still you can order your main dish and deserts a la carte. For 99% of guests it means serious stomach problems as they are destined to eat more than reasonable.
The organized trips included in the accommodation fee are just outstanding, I have not found anything similar around the globe: trip to the Royal Palace guided by the chief archeologist of the site; trip to Esztergom, free pizza for lunch; guided excursion trip in Visegrád; trip to the Visegrád Castle with mulled wine and tea and 30-minute medieval knight demo (we travelled an hour and paid a substantial amount for something similar in Tenerife); after the Castle trip, dinner in the Renaissance Restaurant (also owned by the same brothers).
The knight fight demonstration is a must for kids.

We spent a long weekend in the Hotel with my sister. The room was really nice, comfortable and spacious (we were in the new building). The whole hotel is really clean and tidy, so the wellness area.
The staff was really helpful and polite with us. The food was ok for us, nothing special but delicious. What was a little bit strange for me that in the restaurant the starters and the soup is on the buffet table but you have to order the main course and the dessert from the menu list.
The wellness section is ok but it has really small saunas (max. 6 pers.) so you have to be very lucky to find a place in it... So the salt/steam cabin.
There were a bigger company celebrating something through the first night and it was really disturbing to hear them partying - but it is not the hotel's fault.

Bathrobes are not included into the price, so you cannot find any in the room you have to pay some extra money for them and ask for them in the reception.
Not enough shampoo/soap in the bathroom, luckily we always take some extra with ourselves.

But overall I was satisfied with it very much and really like to go back anytime.

Hotel Visegrad is a decent hotel with nicely refurbished rooms. It has a nice wellness part with Danube-view. It all has been renovated recently and has a good atmosphere.
If you don't want to spend too much but still would like a comfortable stay, this is a good choice.
Rooms are very sound proof.
Breakfast is quite meager for nowadays 4-star hotels.

Room Tip: It has rooms at the roadside but it's not noisy, you could ask for a room more at the back.

The hotel is overlooking the Danube and the castle. We had a room with river view. It was very nice and spacious. I really liked the modern style and the bathroom, although the long sink looks great, it isn't that practical.

The wellness section is a bit limited but ok.

The problem lies with the staff. Most of them are unfriendly and/or look bored. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Big mistake! The food was inedible. They messed up the order, served half cooked chips. They never apologised for the mistakes. The waiters were using bad language in front of customers.

The breakfast was slightly better. I talked with the manager and he said he never had any complaints about anything, which is a bit ard to believe. When I listed the things I was unhappy with (unhelpful staff, dead fly in the wellness, dirty windows, awful food) he nodded but then made excuses for them. Not very impressed.

All in all it is a very nice and modern hotel but don't expect much from the staff and definitely avoid the restaurant!
