“Lovely town but full of tourists”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

A small, historic town on the river Duna/Danube, known locally as the town of seven church spires.

I've been visiting the town regularly since moving to Hungary ten years ago, and enjoy the small cafes and little gallaries, the cobbled streets and old churches.

It is getting more touristy -- there have always been parties of discrete elderly Austrians and Germans, and they are unobtrusive compared to Brits. My last visit was plagued by hordes of young, wealthy, very rude Russians. Still, that may have been a one off, and I will continute to visit, especially in the winter.

The town also hosts a 'museum' of houses, that have been moved to the area as acts of preservation.

So to come, a zen garden.

“Lovely town to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

This is a lovely holiday town with lots of cafes and shops. Great place to spend a day. Try to take a ferry early in the day so you have lots of time to shop and have lunch. Be sure to visit the Marzipan Museum for a lovely cake and coffee.
The ferry ride is very enjoyable as you pass areas with holiday cottages.
A great thing to do on a hot summer day when you are visiting Budapest.

you can sit down for a coffee or icecream, and you get the feeling of beeing in early 20's, horse coaches passing by, kids playing, people are windowshopping etc.,

“Artisan village.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

We visited this little Artisan village as part of a Cityrama Danube Bend tour. The village is basically one street, full of gift shops, cafes, museums and art galleries. Tourist pricing, but a charming atmosphere. We spent 11/2 hours and that was long enough. We returned to Budepest by boat . A pleasant day long excursion.

“Blue Land...fantastic local shop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Thanks to another Trip Advisor Review, we came across the Blue Land shop. The proprietress is wonderful to talk with. They have amazing blue-dyed tablecloths and other things. This is a place to stop if you want a quality remembrance of Hungary...we will treasure our purchase.
