“Food was bad, overpriced and just wrong”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

I have to be honest I was not expecting much. Gringo's failed to reach even that. My son's pizza was okay. The Tex Mex food wasn't. The hot wings came with a rancid blue cheese dip and had been doused in Tabasco after cooking with the result that they tasted of chilli and vinegar but not much more. The quesadilla was bland but passable, the guacamole and the salsa tasted like they had been made last week. Nachos with cheese and jalapeno consisted of half a packet of nachos (just like the cheapest and nastiest in supermarkets) with a dollop of tinned cheese goo and a sprinkling of jalapenos.

Service was slow and prices too high for the quality.

Worth avoiding.

“Cosy and cheap.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2011 via mobile

This place has a very cosy dining area, both smoking and non smoking. I recomend the big burgers there, the quesadillas, and the big steak. Stay away from the pizzas, the bread id always 2 wet and soggy. And the salads arent the best either.

“Goog food-low prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2011

I have tried the very, very , very hot chicken wing...
It was good, but if you go to the restroom in the next few hours, be aware :-)

Otherwise, it is a cosy place, comfortable ,soft benches, funny retro pics on the wall, and a reasonable price level. The staff is friendly .
They serve 2-3 brands of draft beer, and several bottled ones, even Mexican and American ones.

The food is tex-mex specialities , like nachos, taco, and all this stuff, you know, but you can also have schnitzel and huge steak.

This restaurant is not really in the downtown, but easy to find, and it is about 10minutes walking distance from the center.
So, I recommend it to everyone visiting Seged in Hungary.
Thats all falks!

“Some great comfort food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2010

Gringo's feels like a Mexican restaurant in any part of the United States. It is a fun and enjoyable place to eat. You see lots of American license plates and flags. The food is excellent, and offers something for everyone: great Mexican food, traditional hungarian food, and even pizza. The burritos are my favorite.
