“The best family run hotel I have every stayed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

It was not the first time we stayed in Nomad Hotel and camp site. It was suggested by a friend of us. This place is a perfect choice away from home but feeling at home.
The hotel is a family run accomodation in a wonderful atmosphere. At every corner you feel the care and papering. The rooms are wery confortably equiped, every room has the same but different style. The food is home made, and have no words to explain how delicious at every time. (since 5 years we come back, and were never disapointed). There is a change/innovation in every year.
It is really like when you visit your grandmother at the countryside, you have perfect stay, prefect food, perfect relaxation. Why to vaste more words, just prepare yourself and go there, experience it and you will not be disapointed.

We went as part of a tour which was costing over £140 pppn. So were expecting a lot more for the money. Would be good if you were paying £30 or £40 per night for the room but bore no comparison to the other hotels we visited. So more due to the decision of the tour organisers to base us there than the hotel. All a bit tired - reminded me of backpacker hotels in Bali in the 1970s.

We had some marvelous family stay at Nomad hotel, what a beautifuly arranged place! The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you may need. Barbara and everybody at the staff were very friendly, nice and helpful, we were told where to go , what to see - just fantastic. The food was what you can say a truly home-made, delicious and a LOT of it! The hotel is very close to the city of Eger, however it is in a beatiful area, surrounded by mountains, very quiet and peaceful. Definitely we will come back soon!

We can not praise Barbara and her team high enough for their help and advice which went well beyond the call of duty and added substantially to our enjoyment of our holiday.
Our room was beautifully appointed and clean.
The bathroom small but perfectly suitable.
Meals fantastic home-made delights, no one will go hungry at this hotel!
Even before we set off from home Barbara helped us by making contact with another hotel on our trip. Once at the hotel we were 'pampered' with advice on finding locations, sorting out a debit card problem and finalising our check-in to go home.
Free internet available in the reception areas, and I believe garden although we did not try this.

Room Tip: There are a range of room with different prices, email the hotel to find which one best suits your n...

Myself and six other birders arrived at The Nomad at 9pm, we were greeted by the ever friendly Barbara and her brother Alex. The food that they had prepared for us was outstanding, considering the time of night. Our room was very clean, warm, quiet and spacious. Barbara's wonderful mum is a wonderful cook. Their hospitality and attention to your every whim like everyone has said cannot be matched. The location of The Nomad is idyllic, Barbara is a natural hostess, full of smiles, knowledge and a love of her work and people.

The family who run Hotel Nomad should be giving masterclasses in hospitality. Their attitude, attention to detail and friendliness really can't be beaten.

Although we'd booked a "bungalow" (two-storey wooden cabin) in the garden, Barbara kindly gave us the choice of a very comfortable, stylishly-decorated set of rooms in the hotel, or the more far-flung cabin. We opted for the latter. It was slightly more basic than the hotel (perfectly comfortable, but much older in style), but it had its own kitchen and veranda and our son could run around in the very quiet garden (a steeply sloping piece of land, just along the path from the main hotel site). We paid c£120 for our two night stay.

Apart from its gorgeous location (Noszvaj is a very pretty village) and great pool, what sets Hotel Nomad apart is the extremely warm welcome guests receive. Barbara appears to speak every language under the sun, fluently, and was a font of useful information about the area. Breakfast, for which we paid c£5 each (our 6-year-old son's meals were half price), was lavish and delicious, with homemade jam, artisan cheeses and the most divine eggy bread it has ever been my pleasure to eat. On our second (and final) evening, we enjoyed a fantastic BBQ, with live music, for c£10 each - astonishingly good value.

None of us wanted to leave Hotel Nomad. We've stayed in hotels costing six times as much, but rarely have we encountered a warmer, more genuine welcome.
