“Elegant bistro, great food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the Bock Bistro from the Chain Bridge (past the opera house and right at Octagon Square). This very elegant bistro offers excellent service and a large assortment of daily specials. We were there for a small, quick lunch, so all we tried was a Hungarian soup and salad, but both were excellent and we could see the elegant plating of other diners’ choices. Great choice for lunch—read other reviews about the dinner experience.

“Excellence at a price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

This was one of the finest meals we had in Budapest with excellent goulash and meat sampler, the Bock burger is fit for 2 and the wine, though pricey, was unexpectedly wonderful, try the wines of Bock and Attila Gere, they hold up against anyones. The pike perch was perfectly cooked and do try the unusual ice cream selection, try to guess what they are before the staff tell you. I would go back again.

“again and again, a great dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

we usually visit this restaurant a few times a year with my wife or several times with friends. The style of waiters I would describe as friendly and easy. This time last week we celebrated our wedding anniversary and got the usual great experience. Their home made bread is always fresh and crispy and tastes well as a starter for me with Mangalica fat.
This time, for main course I've chosen the seasonal offer of Veal tenderloin with grilled asparagus and "potato carbonara"...yes,yes you can imagine the taste of potato with the carbonara sauce what usually made for pastas. DELICIOUS. My wify has chosen the home made pasta with mushrooms and king prown. Simply perfect, again.

“This is a must if you visit Budapest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Wonderful meals, professional service! We usually visit this restaurant once or twice a year in order to celebrate a special occasion and we have never left disappointed.

Both traditional meals and novelties can be found, the chef is rather innovative and you can try pretty interesting things (e.g. tobacco ice cream - it is wonderful).
