“A little disappointed given the impeccable service received elsewhere within Hotel Corinthia”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We visited Bock Bistro on the final evening of our trip and we were a little disappointed. The restaurant lacks the class and elegance of the Hotel Corinthia in which it is situated. We booked from our hotel room phone and were spoken to rudely by the waiter, although the food and wine were very good, this sub-standard service continued during or meal, we waited 35 minutes to be served with our wine and staff were dis-courteous when advised that my partner has a nut allergy, he asked whether his chosen dish contained nuts, our waiter disappeared to the kitchen never to return!! After 10 minutes or so we asked another waiter to check the issue and whether my partner would have to choose another dish and the issue was brushed off and the original waiter never returned to confirm, my partner had little faith that the dish was prepared safely.
As I say, the food was very good however the 'slap dash' attitude of the staff was not what we were expecting given the fantastic service received from all other elements of hotel corinthia.

“Fanatastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Even if the name means something unpleasant in Turkish, this is absolutely terrific. The food and wine are wonderful and staff brilliant. Liked it so much we tried to book another night but could not get in.

“A great place if you can get in!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

A cosy casual atmosphere, friendly service, excellent wines, good food with wide menu choice, reasonable prices. My only complaint is that the three big blackboards of specials are only in Hungarian (I guess this is a good sign that it is extremely popular with locals too). However, the staff will help make suggestions from the board if you ask. Apparently its very difficult to get into so you must reserve in advance.

“Excellent food and value - a must if you visit Budapest!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

During a four night stay in Budapest this was the best food we had by far! A classy restaurant which was very good value considering the quality. I booked via email and they responded promptly which was great, and they were attentive when we were there. I fully recommend a visit, but book in advance. It's not a large restaurant, but it is in demand!!

“Excellent food - Cold room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

The food was really good - and not expencive! The waiters were OK, but not the best. The room were to Cold - at least near the Windows, but all in all we would recomend this place. But - remember to book, because there is not not many tables, and it is very popular.
