“Specialized for Far East Tourist Groups only...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2015

We have visited the Restaurant 2 times, because we were living next to it.

The Restaurant is located between the Western Railway Station and the Margaret Bridge in a Side Road, in a basement. 6-8 stairs down.

The food was excellent, the place very clean.

Both times we were totally alone, no other guests. We felt like strangers. The employees/waiters had no smile on the face, no personal touch, no soul at all, but polite.

As we were told later, the restaurant is specialized for Far East Tourists Groups, the Management is not interested in individual guests.

The prices are much higher, than the average. /Acceptable for Far East Travellers.../

There are many other really friendly restaurants in Budapest !

Pitty...

“Great food, friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2015

Delicious food, even better than they show in their ipad-menus! The starters were very tasty; a very good goulash and delicious shrimp salad. The staff is very friendly and the service is just great (plates changed, always making sure you had everything). Lovely atmosphere with calm music and very clean. The price is a bit more expensive for Budapest, but completely reasonable for EU-standards. We had no problems with late lunch (3pm).

“Egg-cellent meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2015

On Easter Monday, while many other restaurants were closed, we found that the reknown by the locals Red Pepper was open, to our great relief. The place is great in all aspects-friendly staff, delicious food and affordable prices. You are handed an ipad to check on the menu (prices listed in Hufs) and everything you order comes as seen in the picture, no photoshop or trap there! Only one minor issue- you can't tell where the starters finish and when the main courses begin on the tactile catalogue, so be sure to ask! Try the goulash and the venison stew with the dumplings (some sort of pasta they make which is roughly as big as two rice puffs) and as an entrance the roasted bread with marrow- I am no meat lover yet I surely appreciated the cuisine offered, that should tell you enough ;)

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2015

Had lunch here once. Reasonable price compared to Dublin but possibly a bit expensive for Budapest.
Food was very good - I had tiger prawn & pasta dish.
The menus are on tablets which is a fun way to look at the dishes and available in multiple languages although the other headings are not (restaurant, beverages, history)
Staff were courteous and professional.
I would eat here again but would point out that I do not recall seeing any vegetarian options on the menu - I may be mistaken in this however

“Amazing food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2015

We were out to dinner with my family in the Red Pepper restaurant and we were amazed.

The food was perfect and the wines were very tasty; This, coupled with the service was very good as well. Recommend attention into the knuckle of lamb and foie gras.
They were beautiful.

Sure that we will return.
