“Magnificent restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

The restaurant itself is fabulous with beautiful interior, but the service is the best of all things! It is fantastic and attentive without being obtrusive. Food is excellent, wines also! Price is fantastic by European standards (around 70-100€ for two with wine). Budapest is really blessed with great restaurants...

“A pearl on the Buda Hill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

This is really a pearl in Budapest. It is centrally located on the Buda Hill, close to the Matyas church. The restaurant has a very nice and attentive staff.
They recommended a set menu, which was very good. As I do not like goose liver, there was no problem in changing the goose liver course with something else from the menu :-)
So instead I had a salad with warm goat cheese, which was simply superb,

“Take reccomendations with a grain of salt”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

The Hilton concierge reccomended this restaurant. The resturant has a nice feel although it was 95 degrees. Some of the meals were terribly salty. The management did its best to exchange meals although we were surprised that we got charged without seeing the details, apparently this is illegal in Budapest. The wine selection was overpriced and the wine steward did not match the food pairings. For the money a family could eat overlooking the river with music at the castle.

“Excellent food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

This is one of the best restaurants we had in Budapest. The tables are mainly set inside a courtyard in the open air. So the atmosphere is very relaxing. Being Michelin recommended, it is rather famous in Budapest. We tried the Chef's menu. The food was very well presented and tasted great. Although the price was a bit higher than other restaurants, it is worth it. There was a classical guitarist playing throughout the evening.

“Divine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

While in Budapest, we asked the concierge to suggest a really good restaurant, and he gave us the Alabardos name. We shall always be grateful for his choice. The food was superb, the wines perfectly matched to Hungarian cuisine, the decor charming, and, the classical guitarist was enchanting. Add to that, a level of service unmatched since Ernie's closed, and you have a memorable dining experience.
