Affordable hotel extremly well located next to the Basilica, close to restaurants, bars and Danube river. Quite simple and clean but old fashion. Lot to visit on the surroundings : opera, flyboats, ...

Couldn't be nearer the action in the old town.Spotlessly clean.Helpful staff who just need to smile more to earn the epithet 'friendly'.Room overlooking the courtyard quiet but small[202].Beds rejected by the Hungarian Prison Service as 'too uncomfortable'.Ask for extra pillows and they are delivered poste haste and with good grace.Breakfast ok .All in all,a good experience but please, please sort out the beds.....
Oh, and the air-con is a joke.It doesn't matter what you want - the temp is centrally controlled. And the 'controller' obviously suffers from the cold as his idea of bedroom bliss is 26 degrees

Room Tip: Stay at the back.Otherwise, it's the bells, the bells...

I would recommend this place. It's roughly halfway between the famous Chain Bridge into Buda and the bottom of Andrassy Ut, which contains many of Pest's sights. Location couldn't be much better. The cathedral is right next to it, which is a useful landmark in the skyline when you're trying to find your way home after too many palinkas. Breakfast was quite good as they go, the building was smart and spacious. Staff were attentive, my bathroom plug developed a very minor fault and they had it fixed within 5 minutes. Bar Negro across the square is a great place for an aperitif or nightcap.

The hotel is located in a side street from St Stephens Basilica and square. It is so central for the majority of sights in budapest, a 5 min walk takes you straight to the Schenjyi bridge and wonderful views of the Danube etc. There are plenty of bars and lovely resturants all within a couple of minutes of varying budgets. There is a building being renovated in the street but that doesnt detract from the experience. The metro is also near by as are bus stops should you not want to walk.

The hotel itself was very clean and the reception staff very helpful. All other members of staff we met were friendly too.

We were lucky enough to be given a street facing room which overlooked the Basilica, there was a some noise from the street outside but only if you sleep with the windows wide open! The double glazing does a good job. The bells do chime but we were not aware of them chiming from 11pm-6am.

The room was very spacious and theres was plenty of storage area. We had a safe(which was free) and found the beds to be firm but comfy. The bathroom was very clean and always had plenty of toiletries, although the towels were quite small(have had bigger!)

Breakfast was served in the basement but there was a lift to all floors or stairs if you were feeling more energetic. The food was typical continental e.g, bread, rolls, croissants, pastries, eggs, cheese and ham. Plenty of coffee, tea and juices. Only one small thing , a toaster would be good! Staff kept tables clean and always spoke.

Reception gave us plenty of info when asked abouts routes etc and organised our taxi back to the airport.

Would definitley stay here again, not just for its location but also for its service and comfort.

Room Tip: rooms at the back will be quieter if you are a light sleeper but if you want lovely views of the bas...

The hotel is ideally located in a central and safe area. The staff were friendly, spoke English, and went out of their way to be helpful. The room, and bathroom, was large, clean and with new furnishings and fittings. The breakfast was very good with a plentiful supply of a good choice of food. The lobby and staircase were very attractive. Overall the hotel exceeded expectations, particularly for the price paid, and I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The location is great, but my room was not impressive. The room was very small. The bed was hard as a rock, and the pillows were paper thin. The room did have a/c and several energy efficient features. This hotel is only steps away from a beautiful building, st Stevens church, and there are many dining and entertainment options surrounding the hotel. Unfortunately there is also construction going on just across the street from the hotel, so I'm sure it would be more beautiful without the construction scaffolding in the area. Overall definitely not a bad choice, but I would prefer a more comfortable bed.

Room Tip: Room facing the street is likly to be noisy from foot traffic and the very popular wine bar a few st...

The Hotel was clean, very central, helpful staff, but our room was on the small side. Lighting was dismal too, could have done with some more lamps/lights. We were on first floor so got noise from Metro too and were on courtyard side, so was quieter than road side. Bed was quite low, pillows flat and uncomfortable and due to size of room, kept knocking our legs ob bed corners! As it was only a 3 night stay didn't mind too much, but when we noticed some of the other room doors opened, we felt shortchanged!
Overall very good budget hotel within easy access to most things, helpful staff, ample breakfast, clean, but location excellent.

Room Tip: Not room 112. Maybe 2nd/3rd floor and on courtyard side. Check it before settling in and maybe chang...
