“Nice hotel, good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

Great location, 5 minute walk from Deak Ferenc Ter (main metro station) and 10-15 minute walk to the river. Easy access to most places from this hotel, which is very handy, we never once got a taxi.

Breakfast was adequate, bread, fruit, eggs, salami, the usual european breakfast. It is self service so no waiting staff.

Rooms - Simple and clean. We had a triple room as 3 girls sharing, and so had an extra camp bed which was great as it was put into a suite, so we had lots of space.
Only complaint I have re. the room - it was very hot, no air conditioning. There was building going on outside so we couldn't open the windows either.

Gym/sauna - didn't use so can't comment

Food - there is a great cafe next door to the hotel. I would recommend, lovely staff and amazing food at great prices. Really quirky place with great decor.
If you head out of the hotel and go right, you will end up in a very lively area in the backstreets. There are some amazing restaurants and bars here, we had a great time.

Note for MANAGEMENT - One of the reception staff was extremely rude (Name badge said Renata?) . Upon checkout we walked up to the desk, she stared at us and said, room? Then proceeded to tell us we had to pay tourist tax with no explanation, no did we have a nice stay etc etc. Absolutely no interpersonal skills nor public relation skills, was extremely rude and made us feel unwelcome.
Later we went back to collect our luggage as we went out for lunch, she was sat swinging on the reception chair playing on her mobile! Not impressed...

Asides from that, hotel is more than adequate for a city break, cheap room rates. Its not a luxury hotel by any standard, but even by my fussy standards it was very clean, organised and great location! I would return again (if Renata improves her reception skills! ;-) )

Thank you very much for your time taken to leave your kind feedback on our hotel. Thank you for sharing your good experiencies about the breakfast, location, rooms, staff, nearby restaurants, bars.
I was very sorry to learn about your negative experience you've had during your check out. For our future perspectives your feedback is very usefull. Today I had a personal meeting with Renata, and I told her your observations, ask her to improve her interpersonal skills, and no more playing on mobile. Our Front Office manager will give more attention in the future on Renata. I hope we will see you again in our hotel, and I am sure that Renata will have more reception skills on your next visit.
Kind regards,
Anita Hollósi

Just back from a 3 night stay in Budapest and I was really delighted with this hotel choice. It's location was perfect, opposite Deak metro stop which has all three lines running from it. That was also perfect as we came by public transport from the airport and it took us right to our door. We were very happy with this hotel as it was quiet, comfortable, central and on the edge of all the bars and nightlife so it was all within walking distance at night while thermal baths and Buda and Pest were just a walk or tram ride away. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful and obliging . The rooms were comfortable, very clean and completely equipped. Breakfast was quite varied , missing muesli & fruit salad option for my tastes but there was a lot of meat & egg choices. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much

Hotel has an excellent location, downtown Budapest, very friendly personnel, and very helpful. Room was small - contrary to what is advertised and to other reviews. Maybe because hotel was full and we stayed for just one night on Friday .....and the view was on inside place, pretty disappointing.
Good breakfast.Considering price and the only one night stay, I think it was worth it.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on first floor, they are very small. And by all means avoid on the inner side ! View is...

Your comment is highly appreciated. Thank you very much. Our hotel has 54 brand new standard rooms, 10 large suites, and some of them has an inner court view, therefore they are the most quiet rooms. We are very happy to see, that you were satisfied with the location, the very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast. Looking forward to see you in our hotel again!

The hotel is in a great location, a short walk from the Deak metro stop. A short walk to the large synagogue. At the hotel, the staff was nice, friendly. The bed was extremely firm/hard. The toiletries included with the room consisted of a shampoo/shower gel despensor in the shower (good) and a handsoap dispensor by the sink. The room included a mini fridge--no freezer, and a small microwave, and an electric teapot that worked well. They left interesting teas and coffee 3 in 1 each day with cute little biscuits. The breakfast looked good, but was pricey, so we found coffee shops and pekseg (bakeries) nearby. The room was spacey enough, but there was no place for three people to play cards, but the bed.

Room Tip: Since we stayed more than a week, the guy checking us in told us that he upgraded our room... no ide...

I would like to thank you for your detailed description of our room, wherein you highlight the good shower, the mini fridge, teas, and coffee left in the room each day. As I see there was a misunderstanding, because there is no extra charge for breakfast, it is always included in the room price.
We try to do the best for our guests, so if they come for a longer visit we upragding the rooms, of course depends on availability.
I truly hope we will have the pleasure of seeing you back soon.

Kind Regards,
Anita Hollósi

We stayed in this hotel just for one night as we spent the whole week in other parts of Hungary. The hotel was recommended to us by my sister so we decided to give it a go. We arrived before 2pm and was told that we would not be able to check in until 2pm. That was ok, although I know of hotels which allows you to check in earlier if the rooms are ready. We then asked for a late check in for the following day, as our flight was not leaving until the following evening. We were told we could have late check in until 2pm for 20€ which we were quite happy about. However the following day the receptionist phoned our room at 11.30 am and told us the check out time was already gone!! They had not written down anywhere that we had a late check in. When arriving back to our room later in the afternoon, the keycard did not work. Again had to go to the receptionist to sort this out and was told that the key was not working, as normally the check out was already at 11am and we still in our room at 1pm.
We had a suite so had plenty of room for 2 of us. However the air-conditioning was not working at all so it was quite hot to sleep at night. The bathroom was a very good size and we were quite pleased to see a bathtub in there. The breakfast was adequate.
The location of the hotel is good, one can easily walk to the city centre. The staff at the reception were very helpful, especially the young man who gave us lots of good tips as to what to see during one day in Budapest.

I loved my stay in Budapest, and one of the reasons was this hotel. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were extremely knowledgeable and answered every question without hesitation. The location is great, with little local restaurants and bars around the corner.
Breakfast was really good and even thought the restaurant area is small, the tables turn pretty fast, so no waiting time.
Will definitely come back.

great location in the middle of the city, frendly and fun area with lots of local bars and restaurants to choose from. Rooms clean but a bit on the small side. bathroom massive if you compare to the room. Friendly helpful staff! Even helped me to post my postcards in the end of my trip! :-) Breakfast ok but nothing I would remember, they need to get proper coffee to serve. would stay again if visiting Budapest
