“Beautiful hostel, small, cosy and friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

The location of this hostel was great and very easy to find, it was right near a train station and within walking/cycling distance from all the main attractions. The receptionists were available 24hr, which made us comfortable, and they were friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped and had a nice cosy place to sit above it! The design of the hostel was lovely and I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Budapest; it was great value for money. I would also strongly recommend hiring bikes (the receptionists can recommend a place to do this) as the city is very accommodating for cyclists and it really allows you to see a lot of the city in a short space of time!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful but would highly recommend India or Africa.

Stayed here for 4 nights in the Africa room ... I liked that there weren't any bunks or lockers but flat beds with storage boxes
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The wifi is very strong and doesn't ever drop out
The location is city centre but it's abit of a walk to attractions and to the buda side with the castle and church
The only thing I would improve is the shower and toilet situation - tightest and smallest toilet ever and the only one- two showers for girls but you lock the door and only use one ?

Our stay at Aventura Boutique Hostel for three nights was great. The 'space' room was very comfortable: with the four of us we shared a bathroom (toilet just outside our door), and there was plenty of space to store luggage. Bakery and supermarket (Spar) around the corner and very well equiped kitchen to prepare breakfast in the morning. Fast wifi, very friendly staff, who - as we came quite unprepared - gave us great tips on what to do in beautiful Budapest. Although the city center is within walking distance, we took a 72 hour pass for the metro - the metro station only 5 minutes away from the hostel (and there's a direct line to the international busstation with connections to Vienna and Budapest). If I can name one negative point: walls are quite thin, so loud guests can wake you up at night, although the staff was quick to ask if they could be quiet.

I stayed there for 3 nights at the Africa Room. Fell in love with that room from its photos, but it was exactly the same, which rarely happens. The interior is lovely, the receptionists were kind and available 24hr, it's located on the centre, it's also within budget. Highly recommended for those who wants to explore all parts of Budapest.

The hostel is so nice. Really beautiful. Has a great location and the staff are very friendly. I stayed in the Africa room and it was awesome. Something unique! There are no bumpbeds and the price is very good! I recomend it 100% and I would go back without thinking it twice! :D

If you want a small, quite and homey hostel this is the place for you.
Every staff memeber I had dealings with was wondeful. They helped me with restaurants for dinner, which walking tour to take, tickets to the bathhouses, sold me postage stamps and did my laundry too.
Definitely recommend for a relaxing and comfortable stay in Budapest.

Alot of hype surrounds this hostel but I dont believe its entirely deserved. I travelled to the hostel with a friend and our bookings had been mixed up, even though everything had been confirmed via email the nite before. This resulted in my friend having to sleep one nite on the hostel floor on a mattress. One guy at reception was very helpful but the others were either too busy on Facebook or rolling their cigarettes. The beds in the African room are exceptionally creaky - anytime someone moved, it was heard though out the whole room. Multiply that by 8 people sleeping, and you have a very noisy dorm room.

Dear Rachael,

I am terribly sorry that you have had a bad stay in our hostel. I fully understand that it was quite inconvenient for you moving around, I appologize for that.
When you sent your inquiry we have warned you that we are pretty full and that you have to move almost each day to another room. We have offered you to look for another hostel, but you have descided to stay with us. This was a very busy weekend due to the international holiday (1st May).
It is also true that our 8 bed dorm is noisy, but this is why it is 3 eur cheaper than our 4 bed ensuite dorm, which is much more convenient. I hope we will have a chance to accommodate you again with a better arrangement - maybe in one of our apartments, and show that we are not that bad. We always take customer complaints very seriously, and try to do our best to improve and to make sure that guest have a pleasant stay full of nice experience.

Wish you all the best,
