“What A Find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

I travel to Budapest many times and usually stay in the well know hotels in the center of the city...but decided to try Queens as the reviews were good and the prices resonable.

Having never stay in a "residence" apartment in Budapest I was so plesently surprised. The rooms are not like your standard hotel bedrooms but more like an apartment with seperate living room/kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. The apartments are come in differnt sizes I stayed in a Superior room that was great for me. The seperate lounge made working easy, and as gooding to a restraunt every night can get tiresome, one night I bought food at the supermarket and cooked dinner...simple easy. There is even a washing machine...but I didn't go that far.

The staff are very good, english speaking (mostly), breakfast was varied with certain items cooked fresh

Location is good near the Octogon and all the sights, there is underground parking, free wifi, and rooms are cleaned every day. I noticed in this review I keep saying good a lot for which I won't apologise and the reason I will be staying again on my next trip to Budapest.

I stayed here in December 2012 and again in Feb 2013 and I loved it both times. The apartment was very well maintained, comfortable and felt roomy.Had a small gym with a pool and sauna - adequate but small
It is in a very convenient location for both trams and buses although to use the metro requires a 5-10 minute walk.
I stayed in the deluxe apartment which had 2 bathrooms, a bedroom and living room with a kitchen area which included a coffee maker. There was no kettle but when I asked one was provided immediately. The apartment had a balcony overlooking the courtyard I found the staff extremely helpful and very friendly.
Positives - very friendly staff, comfortable living area and excellent food served in Chess restaurant
Negatives - low signal wi-fi, pillows not very comfortable, breakfast was ok but not worth the money
With all this in mind I plan to stay here again.

This is one f the lovliest hotels my husband and I have stayed in for a weekend break. From arriving the entrance and garden is lovely and very well maintained to the immediate polite and informative staff. The decor is very well done and top quality throughout the hotel, from the entrance, dining room, swimming pool and apartment rooms with balcony. The position of the htel is great, not right in the centre, but only a stroll through the streets, which make you feel you are in the jewish sector of Budapest, or down the main road street to the main shopping areas, the choice is yours. Lots of little pubs and restaurants tucked away, offering lots of choice at very good prices. the service and polite people was excellent everywhere we went. we didnt have breakfast, but the food did look very nice, we ate out, from just over the road in a very small cafe and freshly baked coissants or further into the main town and had a breakfast platter.

Room Tip: We had a upgrade to a superior room with Balcony, very spacious and looked over the lovely garden.

Spend two wonderful nights here. Our 2-room-suite was cosy and clean, the service was friendly and competent and the hotel is just a 5 minute walk away from Andrassy ut. Will definitely come back next time!

Although pleasant enought this is not in any way a 5 star hotel.

Pros:
Clean room - I had a Superior Suite
Friendly Staff

Cons:
Pool is not in any way what website suggests - I didnt bother going for a swim after being in the sauna as the pool was not appealing at all.
Sauna is tiny - enough room for 2 to 3 people at a push.
No phone in room = no room service
No concierge at all
Bathrooms shabby and terrible shower.

I travel a lot and spend several nights a week in hotels. From my experience this is in no way a five star hotel. At best a basic four star. Its fine for a business trip, I wouldnt bring my wife for a romantic weekend.

We had a last minute booking to this place last weekend. It has a good location to go out and a lot of bars/clubs on walking distance. Public transportation is also close. Enjoyed the pool/hot tub/sauna! Has a friendly 24/7 staff.

You need to feel Budapest to enjoy the surroundings of Dob utca, but this is one of the most vivid places in the city especially if you are into ruin bars and evening attractions. I've been living on the top floors in a huge rooms with kitchenette and balcony, considering hot summer period it was very nice. Staff is very helpful, breakfast standard and more of utility not pleasure. The hotel has small SPA area for the guests with swimming pool and saunas. Rooms are air-conditioned. In overall very good impressions. But if you are claustrophobic avoid to use elevators - the are tiny and slow ;)
Please note, hotel is not in the city center and you need to understand it. It take about 25-30 minutes by foot to get there!

Room Tip: Try to get room on the top floors with a view to the inner yard.
