The impressive lobby gives you great expectations about the rooms, but as it often goes, you will be disappointed.

the bathtub in the middel of the room might be a good idea on paper, but the transparant glas makes it impossible for any privacy. Further the bathtub was leaking and there was water damage in the ceiling and the shower part did not work.

You get what you pay for and when you pay high for 5-stars hotel, you should be able to expect perfection, but expectations like that are not met in Boscolo Budapest.

Dear Valued Guest 'M R',

Thank you for staying with us and thank you for your valued feedback.
I am sorry to see that despite of a good arrival experience the design of your room did not live up to your expectations. a perfect hotel in Budapest, located in the core city. Staff is very friendly and efficient, rooms are amazing, cosy and confortable, very well arranged, clean and silent. The architecture of the building worth the stay, but not only. Everything is close to perfection there.

If its grand and you re looking for the this Hotel will blow you away. What a beautiful, stunning building! Almost feels like you've stepped in to another world. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was the quickest (and priciest) I've experienced in a long while. The breakfast is worth every penny. Lots of variety and a wonderful setting. We stayed four days and never tired of the breakfast. The rooms are big and modern and the location is perfect if you want to explore. We didn't use a cab at all while there and there are loads of good restaurants and bars in the area. Wonderful stay, would go back

Room Tip: Don't order room service unless you really have to.. for the price of one beer you could order 1...

It's not cheap but worth the price. Magnificent architecture outside and inside. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and very clean. Staff very friendly and ready to help with directions and anything else. We always enjoy visiting Budapest but this was the best trip there. The hotel is within walking distance of all tourist attractions and since we visited in October and the weather was good we did a lot of walking and explores parts of the city we have not seen before.

We spent a long weekend celebrating my wife’s 40th birthday at the end of Februari 2014.
We were two couples staying at contiguous rooms.
Since the moment you walk in at the lobby area you get welcomed by the fantastic atrium illuminated by the natural light coming in through the glass roof.
My wife and I got a fantastic corner room tastefully decorated and with an appropriate walk in closet. I think it was the only room with an exterior balcony on this side of the building. I guess we got this room because I informed the reception about my wife´s celebration (thank you very much!). Our friends’ room had a different layout and wooden floors instead of carpet. But their bathroom seemed more luxurious than ours.
The New York café where they served our fantastic breakfast everyday was just amazing. No wonder why it´s a regular stop of the Budapest Hop On Hop Off city tour and it´s a tourist attraction in itself. It feels special to start the day with a mimosa surrounded by the grandiose architecture. I don´t drink coffee myself but our friends who are experts in the matter said it was one of the best they´ve tried.
The staff is friendly and very helpful, especially the guys at the main entrance. They will help you to fix a price with the taxi driver so you don´t get ripped off. (I´ve heard a lot of complaining about this in Budapest).
I recommend this hotel without any doubt and would return without hesitation. If there is something to complain about, that would be that I found it difficult to regulate the shower temperature. Otherwise my stay was perfect and my wife loved it! 

Two weeks ago we stayed at the BOSCOLO hotel with five friends for four nights. The hotel is situated in the old section of the city, which makes it a short and inexpensive cab drive to the pedestrian zone and main shops, if you don't want to walk. Still it is a pleasant and lively neighborhood and taxis, buses and the metro are easy to use. The rooms are lovely, the bathrooms are big and beautiful with brand toiletries and the ambiance of the hotel with the big atrium lobby gives you great pleasure. Still the biggest asset of the hotel is its personnel. Everybody at the reception desk is efficient, smiling and very accommodating. We had the opportunity to experience special service, when we lost important papers and tickets and Mr. Lorant, the chief concierge, but also the other staff were very helpful. They were also very helpful, when one of us forgot her bag in the taxi on the way to the airport and we only had to give them a call and they arranged everything in a few minutes. The buffet breakfast, served in the exquisite New York Cafe, was excellent and we also used their spa and had one of the best massages ever! I would highly recommend the BOSCOLO. It was a great pleasure to stay there and I hope we will return!

Room Tip: Both their deluxe and their superior rooms are equally beautiful, the latter ones being a little big...

I arrived at the Boscolo hotel for 4 days, my first impression was ''wooow''.
Super impressed by the design(luxurious and beautiful).
The food at the New York Cafe is really nice, the staff is really great(everybody is smiling and free to help whenever it is needed even for non important stuff).

The rooms are spacious and clean everyday, the beds are super comfortable and I slept really good.
The big buffet for breakfast will satisfy everybody(sweet, salt, juice,....).

The hotel is really well located, close to city center and 10 minutes walk from Danube.

I will for sure visit this hotel again next time I go to Budapest.
