We have stayed in Best Western for a night early this year. We got our keys and all went ok but when we went to our door everything was dirty around it. Inside in the bathroom there was still hair in the shower from previous guest and mirror was smudgy. Beds were not comfortable.
Few good things about it is that you have free internet connection from your room and nice buffet in the morning. For the price we paid I would chose some other hotel worth that money

We stayed in this hotel just after it opened in early 2006 so we managed to get a great deal for a 4 night stay including breakfast, booking direct with the hotel. The hotel was in a handy location although you can't really see the river, about a 5 or 10 min walk to bars and restaurants. The room was very modern and comfortable, great bathroom. There is a very nice sauna and jacuzzi area in the basement which you just have to make time for. Free internet in the lobby and very helpful staff on reception. We will just have to go back one day!

  • Liked — The all inclusive mod cons (jacuzzi, sauna, internet, free drinks, modern rooms etc)
  • Disliked — Nothing!

What a great Hotel! As other reviewers have said its very mod and comtempory and while it was full during our stay it never felt like it was and we never heard other guests, altho we did hear a dog barking!!
The breakfast buffet, free internet were particularly good. As to location, once you find your bearings in relation to the transport its very convenient for walking or tram and metro. The huge CityCentre shopping centre also just a 5-10 minute walk away! We had a Thai massage at the Siam centre which was a real treat too as close to the hotel!

  • Liked — The free internet, breakfasts, decor, free coffee in lounge and location
  • Disliked — The glass bathroom door which was not sound-proof
  • Tips/Secrets: — Leave a keycard in the slot in the room when you go for breakfast and the cleaners won't enter your room as it will appear occupied

Stayed at the Best Western Hotel Parliament during the riots - its very close to the Parliament (5 mins walk) but was unaffected by the goings on - in fact it added to the excitement, with some roads nearby blocked off etc.

Its brand new (well a total refurb to an old building), handy location - single female travellers may feel uncomfortable at night, but we were 3 lads so it was fine!

Its approx 15 mins walk from the main areas of bars/shops/food etc. Nearest Metro station at Parliament 5 mins away.

2 free internet terminals - dead handy!

Everything is brand new, its like staying at Ikea! - All fancy modern furniture/fittings. And everything worked perfectly!

Brekky was very good, western style buffet style.

Only minor gripe is the cost, it seemed expensive for Budapest, especially for a budget orientated traveller (who was seeking a bit of luxury at the end of a trip) - mind you, it is brand spanking new! For 3 guys we had a single + twin room, & between the 3 of us the cost was £58 each.

Stayed at Best Western Premier Parlament from October 8th to 11th, 2006.

Location: Close (5-10 min walk) to 2 subway lines and to tram#2 stop, that runs along Danube enbankment (Pest side). You will not need a taxi to go sightseeing.
The surrounding area is not so beautiful, be we did not have any problem, even coming back from dinner late at night.

Rooms: We had a room with a balcony facing internal courtyard; the room was extremely quiet. Double bed are 2 single beds pushed together (not very nice...). A/C worked perfectly, LCD TV, bathroom amenities, no bathtub though. Modern furniture.

Breakfast: Excellent!! The breakfast room is very nice, with modern and beautiful silverware. Juices, cereals, hot dishes (sausages, fried and scrambled eggs), juices, several kinds of bread, cheeses, coffee machine, etc... Same menu every morning...

Reception: All support I needed (plug adaptor, for instance) was kindly given... only one person works at reception per shift... so, you have to be patient and wait your turn.

Internet mostly available (2 machines) and works very well. Had some problems with the electronic keys (had to request to program them again a couple of times).

Hint: When going down for breakfast, leave one of the electronics key on the master light switch, otherwise you will find the chambermaid cleaning your room when you come back to your room just after breakfast!!

Others: External facade is not so nice as website pictures...

Budapest is a beautiful city, especially the Buda castle area!! We did not know about what to expect, due to some mixed reviews... we were not disappointed at all. Definitely worths a visit!!

  • Liked — Rooms: quiet and modern amenities. Excellent breakfast and brakfast room!!
  • Disliked — Surrounding area not so beautiful.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Keep one electronic key on master switch if you do not want housekeeping before going sightseeing.
