“Couldn't wish for better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

My husband and I stayed in this lovely hotel for the week of our wedding. Most of our guests (about 40 people) also stayed here. We had the best time ever.
The staff could not be friendlier and more helpful- on the days coming up to the wedding and also on the wedding day we needed their help a lot. On the day of the wedding they delieverd breakfast to our suite free of charge and no matter how many times I called reception (and believe me it was a lot) they did everything immediately and in the most helpful way.
Breakfast was always really nice- a lot of variety and plenty of food.
We were staying in the suite, which was really nice, modern and definitely spacious. Met all our expectations and even beyond that. It was also super clean- could not fault them on anything.
There is also a bar in the hotel where we spent a lot of time with our friends. Because the hotel is not too big, it was the perfect place for our wedding guests and us to stay there. We basically took over the bar every day. :) There is free coffee, tea, etc. all day long in the bar and until 5pm there is also free mineral water, which came very handy, as it was over 40 degrees outside, so we drank a lot of it.
Our guests commented on how perfect the hotel was as well.
Another thing that I would wholeheartedly recommend is the massage that the hotel offers. I had it as well as some of our guests and everyone was really compliementary of the various massages we had.
Overall we are extremely happy with everything about the hotel, the staff, the food, the everything. :)
Thanks a lot to the staff again for making our wedding week so wonderful.

Room Tip: We stayed in the suite and it was worth every penny.

We were there for one night with friends before we moved onto another prearranged venue. The hotel was in a very good position in Pest, not too far from the beautiful Parliament building; I would say 5 minutes walk. It was a modern clean, smart and impressive hotel and was very good value. The rooms were a reasonable size, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. The bathrooms were lovely with one point, the doors were glass but not see through however, because of the design, the door was not flush with the frame which we found disturbing at first but it caused us no problems so just be aware and don't be put off as there was so much else to make up for this. They had a Jacuzzi and sauna in the basement with showers etc. The breakfast room when not in use has tea/coffee/hot chocolate machines to use which were lovely. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice.
The reception was efficient but also extremely helpful, with everyone making us feel welcome, even after we had left and met back up at the hotel with our friends who were still staying there. They recommended a couple of local traditional restaurants and they were very close by. We didn't get to use the bar but our friends did and told us it was nice.
Lastly we had a run in with a taxi driver who conned us when we got back after a day out, claiming we had handed over only 500 and not 5000 Forints. Tomas the receptionist came outside immediately to help us try to resolve the issue and when we went back in he recommended a local firm they issue which was the best priced fare we had all week.
Having stayed in the Hilton on my last visit I think I would go back to this hotel next time as it is in a better location for walking, although it can’t compare with the views from the Hilton if you have the right room!

We stayed at the Best Western Premier Parlament Hotel for 5 nights during June 2012 and found it to be the best city based hotel we have stayed in.
LOCATION: Located in downtown Pest, about 600 meters from the river, no real views on offer but close to public transport and within easy walking distance to the river and most sights. There are lots of local restaurants and convenience shops nearby, especially around the nearby Szabadság Square which we frequented due to the pleasant park-like surroundings and the variety of cuisine on offer. There are plenty of banks and ATM’s in the vicinity as well as the Cityrama office, one of the main day tour companies.
STAFF: Unbelievably friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We cannot single any particular one out. The manager of this hotel must be a real people’s person because his/her staff make you feel at home and welcome. We include all the staff that we encountered from the room cleaners, the breakfast crew to the front desk – and even those having a smoke outside the staff entrance! Front desk English is very good – we were understood by all we spoke to.
ROOMS: We had a room on the 2nd floor (212, I think). Modern, clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well fortunately as it was very hot during our visit. There are windows that open for natural air if you prefer in both room and the bathroom. Whenever we left in the morning, albeit only for a short while, our room had been made up during our absence – now that takes some doing, as all travellers will agree! Oh yes, the room was also quiet even though we had the bathroom window open some nights.
BREAKFAST: Mmmmmm- yummy! A great variety of cereals, fruit, cold meats, breads cheeses, salads etc through to hot veg, sausages, bacon and eggs – perfectly fried – sunny side up. A variety of tea, coffee and bottled water is available 24/7 on a help yourself basis in either the bar area or the breakfast room.
GENERAL: An excellent choice whether on business or holiday. Value for money – I challenge you to beat it in both western and eastern Europe!
Last comment: If you are in the hospitality industry – do yourself a favour and visit this hotel if you want to know how to do it!

Room Tip: Some rooms have inside bathrooms without windows - if fresh air is important, ask for one with a win...

What can I say that hasn't been said before. The staff, the hotel, certainly came up to expectations, in fact the staff were exceptional. We visited Budapest this time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As you do, we had cards for each other, which we left by our beds. It seems our maid may have noticed these and mentioned it to the reception staff. On returning to our room, after a day sightseeing, there was a card, a small bottle of champagne and a small box of chocolates for our "celebration". How thoughtful is that. Excellent.
Back to the hotel. We had a room overlooking the street which I thought may have had a problem with noise, but it was relatively quiet, buses running past are trolley buses which hardly make a noise and the traffic flow is light any time of the day/night.
After a hot days sightseeing, the jacuzzi in the "Wellness" room down stairs was a very welcome addition to the hotels attributes. I can't praise the hotel staff enough, nothing is too much trouble, they will make time to make sure you enjoy your stay at their hotel. LOVED IT.

Room Tip: Most of the restaurants are within a 15 minute stroll, in a safe neighborhood, and the prices range...

Top notch Best Western : it has their "premier" award status and deservedly so. Well situated for arrival as it is within easy walking distance of Kossuth Lajos Ter (4 stops on the M2 metro from the main railway station at Budapest Keleti) and also an easy walk to Budapest Nyugati for train services up the east bank of the Danube bend. (Nyugati is also the departure point for regular rail services to the old terminal one of Budapest airport, but since they closed it at the end of May, you now have an uncomfortable local bus ride for several kilometres to the remaining terminal 2 : not really recommended.). The hotel is also very handy for all the major sights from the Parliament building onwards, and we found the Budapest boat terminal at Vigado Ter was within walking distance as well. Inside, it's modern and very well appointed, with complimentary tea/coffee at all times of day, two internet terminals for those like me without smartphones, and a spa room too. Air conditioning is brilliant, easily handling temperatures of 95 degrees F outside. Our room was comfortable and quiet : the only minor gripe was the glass door into the ensuite, which was neither light- nor sound-proof and so you risked disturbing your partner if getting up in the night. Desk staff are really helpful, speaking good english and keen to give any advice needed on visiting the city. Breakfast was fine too. If returning to the city, would have no hesitation in staying here again.
