“Very good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

It was very nice. A lot of information at reception, helpful staff. Breakfast was good, you can choose from a lot of different types of food, from cereals and eggs to toast and cheese. The baloney was kind of cheap though. But in general, it was a nice, full breakfast. It's quiet, lot of fresh air, trees, grass, excellent for those who want to escape from the concrete jungle. It has a parking lot and it is easy to go from there to downtown, either with your car or with public transportation (which I recommend if you want to relax completely). Be careful though if you choose to comeback with the night bus, you HAVE to have a ticket. Every single bus had at least three controllers. You can also buy tickets from them (but not in euros). All in all, it was a nice experience and when I go back to Budapest, I think that I will choose the same hotel.

Room Tip: The upstairs room have normal windows, and lower chambers have small round windows like those on shi...

Worst hotel I've ever been to. Far from the city, rude personal and it could also get you a nice surprise, as for us: they moved us to another hotel far away (even MORE than the Botel itself), 2 stars instead of 3. Obvioulsy it has been told the very day we were leaving for Budapest so we couldn't change our booking to another hotel and we didn't even get 1€ discount. We were told we would have had breakfast included...true, but we had to come to the Botel, because the other hotel didn't have any breakfast! And when I asked the lady if it was near she just told me to call a taxi. Sure, pay a taxi to have a free breakfast...Anyway we walked for half an hour (they finally gave us a map which showed that the distance between the two hotels was 5 minutes walking...no way!) and we saw the Botel: dirty and old, very poor breakfast. Avoid it.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel.

Great value hotel, room was clean, nice and warm (it was snowing and about 1 degree C) and breakfast was very good. I wouldn't recommend if you have no car as it is a trek from the city centre.
Do try the restaurant for local dishes and good value.

All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the Danube

Firstly the location of the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, not a place you would want to travel back to late at night, it's not near the city centre at all, having to take busses and trams which are very confusing if you don't know which stops to change at or which busses.
The breakfast was simple buffet, nothing special but also nothing to complain about. The rooms were decent sized and clean, but the rooms was very hot and you can't turn down the heating in your room! The bathroom was clean and adaquate. We booked a double room but ended up with a twin, but we couldn't be bothered to change or argue as we arrived very late. The staff where friendly and one gent spoke fluent English, and even got us a good deal on a taxi and gave us some advise. Over all the hotel was average, but the location made it differcult to return to and from town, as taxis are expensive.

Room Tip: The twin would be great for friends

The hotel is out of town but we knew that before we went. it wasn't that difficult to get too we caught a tram and a train and walked over the bridge. We only stayed one night and that was long enough. Lovely location to chill out and do nothing which is what we wanted for an afternoon and just as well as there is nothing else to do there. the river is very pretty but the surrounding area not so and no visible shops or restaurants, in fact a private fitness and canoe centre in one direction and a private yard in the other. Would have liked to walk along the river but it didn't seem possible. The hotel itself was shabby and in need of a lick of paint. Our room was nice had view over river, air conditioning worked shower was good. Food very average - microwave to table type. Staff not very friendly, helpful or welcoming. After our meal we were told the restaurant closed at 10pm and was locked there was no other place to go as there were no lights on the river decking and so we ended up sitting in a very small and uncomfortable reception area. We left the next morning. It was pretty sitting by the water and relaxing reading and watching the canoeists for one afternoon but we would not go there again. Got the impression that it was busy there on weekends but mid week it was very quiet and we were putting them out being there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking river. We were given a room overlooking rubbish and tyres in the water wh...

Emplacement of the Botel Hotel Lisa is terrible. You have to take bus nb. 23 and tram nb. 2 to get to the downtown. It takes min. 40 minutes to get there.
Botel itself is located on the edge of huge commuterville (?) called Csepel, so if you want to see a real face of Budapest and its people, good choice (do not visit Csepel water spa - it is a crowded and noisy place).
Botel itself is quite and average, air condition is on during the night and in the morning, breakfast consist of white bread, marmalade, nuttela, cheese, margarine and butter, salami, vegetables and tea and instant coffe (milk included).
Count with the fact you cannot join the beds together if you are couple.
And also count with the singing of frogs and other water/land animals and birds during the night. I cannot say it was disturbing, but it can be for people with weak sleep.
My advice: choose hostel in the very downtown if you want to explore the city.

Room Tip: Choose another hostel.
