...or all in one?
Seeing the photos with which meant former Hotel Pest, you realize how talented and creative was the team that transformed him into the JEWEL that is now CASATI HOTEL.
I have chosen for its wonderful position (2 min walking to Opera, 10 min to Chain Bridge, 20 min to Heroes Square, etc) and because of their excellent website images. Maybe here the disappointment that I had when, down from the taxi, I found myself in front of one tired, dusty building, partially covered with graffiti...
BUT, with the entrance hallway, I suddenly realized that I made the right choice.
It all started with a dream check-in, in my case made by Miss Tunde. Quick, with the smile on the face, but also full of necessary informations, including a map of Budapest, a cup of coffee came extraordinary after an long way (14 hours) by train and an immediate accommodation, even if it wasn't the right time for check-in.
And followed episode two of a long string of "WOW", called the ROOM. I stayed in room 22, from so-called type "heaven". It was love at first sight!
I'll let the photos attached to speak in my place, adding just a few of the amenities of the room- spotlessly clean, full minibar with any kind of drinks, safety box, phone, LCD TV with satellite channels, free WI-FI, nespresso (accompanied by everything you need-tea bags, coffee, sugar, teaspoon, cup), hair drier, toiletries including a magazine with everything you needed to know about Budapest- addresses of museums, restaurants, clubs and another map. Fabulous!
There are so many things to say!...
The hotel is gorgeous, everything is new, modern, clean, achieved with so much good taste.
The breakfast was perfect, in a dream dinning room. The bar, open 24/7, is another gem (with a very cute "bartartist", Ben).
There was nothing what you miss- gym, Finnish sauna, smoking area, PC in the hallway, a gorgeous courtyard and, as if it hadn't been enough, at the ground floor was an art gallery- Art Corner Gallery Casati (in the week where I was staying, gallery theme was "Sexual Identity").
I'm convinced that I have omitted many things, I could add that you can by, at the reception, tickets for various events (in my case- a cruise at the Danube with "Legenda"- very good).
And, last but not least, the hotel staff! Extremely helpful, great and good knowledge of the English language. Thank you!
The position of this hotel in TA (number 23...) is wrong and deceiving, because its value is incredible (I paid 294 euros for 5 nights, including breakfast!)!
Will be hard to beat chain hotels or luxury 5 stars, but, if it will keep the current standards, CASATI HOTEL will be the great surprise of Budapest, as it was for me.
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED !
