“Underated Genious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

We saw a couple of fantastic exhibitions at the Vasarely Museum recently. Wonderful op-art images, his work is undervalued, especially in Britain. The museum is located near a square with a couple of nice restaurants and you could combine a visit with a walk through Margaret island.

“Unique art”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

We were eagerly anticipating visiting this museum as we had not seen much op-art previously in our travels. We were the only visitors for much of our time there so we had ample opportunity to leisurely wander around the galleries.

We loved the extensive collection of Vasarely’s works, fascinating creations the likes of which we had never seen before. The optical illusions and multi-dimensional aspects of some works were absorbing to just stand in front of and observe.

If you want to see some art that is unique I can unreservedly recommend a trip to this museum.

“Great collection, he was a genious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

I have been visiting some great museums in Budapest but so far I was really disappointed with the performance and lack of professionalism. This place nothing special but the collection of Vasarely is just amazing. They have about 100+ rarely seen paintings to wonder the art of the old master. Before computers and graphic design softwares he created powerful images as he called "programs". 800Ft to get in seems extremely reasonable.

“Homage to a Genius”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Next to the Buda side of the Arpad bridge there is a little museum, located in a beautiful building.
Victor Vasarely experience colorful painiting of lines and squares, creating ilusion of three dimensional surface and more. A celebration of color and shape.

“Brilliant gem on the edge of the tourist map.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

This was a fantastic little museum. It is really good value for money and exhibits some of Vasarely's best in a compact but beautiful space. I was lucky enough to visit in a quiet winter month and had the whole place to myself, which was an experience in itself. To be alone with Vasarely, what a treat. It might seem a little difficult to get to at first but is actually very easy to find if you take the suburban rail north along the Buda side of the river. Definitely worth the journey if you know and love Vasarely's work
