We were in the area having just gone to Heroes Square, and looked in our guidebook which noted about the statue "the anonymous writer; his pen has become shiny from those touching it. It is said that touching the pen will give writers good luck and protect from writer's block". As someone currently nearing the end of a PhD, I figured visiting might come in handy. The statue is in a great location within castle grounds, and there weren't many people around, allowing us to take a few photos touching the pen. It was just a shame I couldn't ply it out of his hands! There's also some nice monuments nearby. Overall a fun place to visit if you're nearby and wandering the park or visiting Heroes Square anyway
