“Great food, brutal service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We stopped by for lunch on a rainy day. The restaurant was fairly full, but there was no wait for a table. When we sat down, we waited for a long while before a waiter showed up -- by then we'd had plenty of time to sort out the menu and specials (helpfully on a nearby blackboard), but we'd also had time to notice that a lot of folks were doing the same thing as us -- waiting, not eating. Here's where I'd tend to say, "the long and the short of it..." but there was only long in this case. As in a long. Long. Wait. For. Every. Aspect. Of. Service.

On the positive side, both of our meals were creative and tasty, well-prepared, and served fresh from the kitchen. We both had their lunch menu (3-course prix fixe with various options) and I would give the food a full 5 stars. The decor is interesting and the overall look and feel is spacious and pleasant. But the slow service. Ugh. Looked to us like they were skimping on the waitstaff this afternoon -- they seemed to be running around about as fast as they could, but had too many tables to keep up. We spent a full two hours over lunch, and it wasn't a two-hour lunch kind of meeting. We may swing by another day to see if the service was an anomaly, because the food was definitely worth another try.

“Good food, slow service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

It's not the cheapest restaurant by Hungarian standards, but it's not very expensive either - I got a plate of gnocchi for around 1200 forints and it was excellently prepared. However, it took me twenty minutes to catch someone's eye to both order and pay the bill.

“Bad food!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

The place looks quite cool from the outside, in a nice cute small street. Inside it's also quite nice, there was a menu in english, the waiter was also friendly. However, the food was a disaster. We ordered gulash which was tolerable but for the second course: ceaser salad which was soaked in mayo i stead of dressing, nasty pieces of toasted bread instead of croutons: couldnt be finished. Instead of grilled goat cheese with vegetables: melted, smoked nasty yellow cheese. Cold vegetables...couldnt be eaten. After that stomach ache and the prices were also high!

Wouldn't recommend it for eating maybe a beer!
