We stopped by for lunch on a rainy day. The restaurant was fairly full, but there was no wait for a table. When we sat down, we waited for a long while before a waiter showed up -- by then we'd had plenty of time to sort out the menu and specials (helpfully on a nearby blackboard), but we'd also had time to notice that a lot of folks were doing the same thing as us -- waiting, not eating. Here's where I'd tend to say, "the long and the short of it..." but there was only long in this case. As in a long. Long. Wait. For. Every. Aspect. Of. Service.
On the positive side, both of our meals were creative and tasty, well-prepared, and served fresh from the kitchen. We both had their lunch menu (3-course prix fixe with various options) and I would give the food a full 5 stars. The decor is interesting and the overall look and feel is spacious and pleasant. But the slow service. Ugh. Looked to us like they were skimping on the waitstaff this afternoon -- they seemed to be running around about as fast as they could, but had too many tables to keep up. We spent a full two hours over lunch, and it wasn't a two-hour lunch kind of meeting. We may swing by another day to see if the service was an anomaly, because the food was definitely worth another try.
