“A very nice stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This is a very nice hotel in the middle of Budapest. The hotel staff were very nice , spoke perfect English and were very helpful. Rooms were clean and well done with modern bathroom and refrigerator. Breakfast was included and was a pretty good buffet.

Room Tip: most rooms were big. The rooms that were looking out on the avenue were loud if you had the window o...

thebhotelmis perfectly located a few minutes walk from all the sights. Next to bus tram and Metro stops. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The meals are good with a 15% discount for guests. Ask we did not book the breakfast but we're delighted to find the restaurant offers free coffee and croissant for non breakfasting guests. Rooms are very comfortable with fresh sheets and towels. Free wifi is a handy recent addition, and it works very well.

All in all a very good City hotel. Also a couple of minutes walk away are a Tesco and Aldi for any forgotten essentials.

Everything was very good: the location is close to subway and main tourist attractions, the personnel was friendly, helpful and very efficient, the setting is so Budapest-like. Our room was also very quietOnly one negative comment though the bathroom was just a bit small, and the lavatory was not separated.

Very good hotel, superb service, location and rooms. Only one comment for improvement no tea or coffee facilities in room, although room service was excellent. Location excellent for trams buses and metro.

We went for a long weekend and stayed here- paid with frequent flyer points which was good- the entrance and restaurant area is beautiful, amazing decor and what you would expect Budapest style!

Bar was good, reasonable drinks, not as cheap as other places but to be expected in a hotel! Room was nice slightly dated and not a typical modern hotel, but that is what they were going for I suppose- just marble entrance halls stay grand and patterned bed sheets and carpet just go out of fashion!

Dear Charlie C,

Thank you very much for choosing to stay in the Astoria during your recent visit to Budapest and thank you for your very kind feedback.

It brings us joy that you loved the grand lobby and the décor of the building, as well as the central location. We strive to maintain the beauty of an old era and combine this with the modern facilities. Thank you for mentioning the frequent flyer program, we have a huge number of own regular guests who collect the Danubius Europoints and get the monthly Danubius info mail.

Thank you once more and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Kind regards,

Laszlo Zsida

We stayed here for 3 nights earlier this week. The hotel is full of history and character, a real turn-of-the-century classic with marble everywhere, mirrored pillars, chandeliers and lofty rooms. The staff are exceptional - professional yet humourous and friendly and always helpful with bookings for concerts, dinners, etc.

Our room was spacious and well decorated and the bathroom was well modernised and attractive. We ate in the dining room on our first night and the food was very good - we had beef steak with foie gras and pork with apple mash; it was excellent, and both the food and wine were very reasonably priced. We also had a small afternoon tea one day and that too was lovely; try the cakes - they are just too good!

Breakfast was the usual buffet. The hot food was not always hot enough but that's really the only negative. Everything was plentiful, well prepared and catered for all needs.

Given the location, next to bus/tram/metro stops, and being 10 minutes walk from almost everything, it's hard to beat. For a touch of old-world elegance with all mod. cons., you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: We had a superior room and it was spacious, as was the bathroom.
