Great hotel. Got a great bargain, so this was a spluge for someone who usually does 3-star hotels.
If you make your own way there, it was a little difficult to find. We made our way there via public transport from the Nuygati rail / metro station (it's a 5 minute walk). From Nyugati, take the underground passage from the metro exit (or the rail station side of the street), and watch the signs in the underground passage for St. Istvan Ter. Then walk on the same side you come out of the passage on (north side) for a few short streets. If you rach Pannonia Utca, you went too far--turn around and double back. Here's the crucial information: if you're coming west along Saint Istvan Ter, look to your right--it's on a small street at the end of a cul de sac. There's a small NH hotels banner above the sidewalk on Saint Istvan Ter, just at the corner with Pannonia Utca, which on one side says "NH Hotel" and on the other, gives you a map of how to get there. But if you're coming towards the west, you'll just see the logo and be confused!
The hotel is clean, modern, and well-appointed. The breakfast was amazing! I am not sure I'd pay 16 Euro for any breakfast. However, use a booking site that includes breakfast. I paid $150 including breakfast and taxes using otel dot com (and got a 5% credit for future bookings).
The other postings were correct that if you use the thermostat, the temperature is adjusted only 3 degrees + or - from the hotel's ambient temperature, however, the temps were in the 60s/70s fahrenheit when I was there, and so the ambient temperature of the hotel was perfectly comfortable with minor adjustments.
Rooms include safe, minibar, electric kettle with tea and instant coffee, tv, and free LAN (the front desk will loan you a free ethernet cable). Wireless LAN is available at a charge, but you can plug into ethernet for free internet access in the room.
The bath is nice, well-designed, and clean and they provide a nice range of toiletries.
The staff were friendly and provided lots of local information.
For a nice, inexpensive Indian meal, Punjab Tandoori on Pannonia Utca is just around the corner (turn right out the door, and right on Pannonia). A nice meal for two with drinks was 7000 HUF (including a tip). There are many other spots in the area to eat, have a coffee, see a movie, or hear music. I doubt there's better shopping anywhere else, either.
