“Fantastic!”

Burg Hotel

Have just returned from the Hotel Burg with my husband. We spent 4 nights at the hotel and it certainly lived up to our expectations. The rooms were spotless and breakfast was good. The front desk staff all speak excellent English are and more than willing to give advice on transport etc. They will even arrange transport to the Airport if required. Great location, especially at night when the area is quiet and you can access the upper level of the Fisherman's Bastion at no charge. The view from the hotel windows must be our best ever, directly over Mattias Church. Restaurants in the area are good but a little more pricey than other areas in Prague. The cheapest bar for a drinks in this district is by the entrance to the Castle Labyrinth. Also a must is a visit to the Ruzwarm cafe just down from the hotel where they serve the best cream cakes etc at a very modest price. In the evenings we walked down the steps in front of the Fisherman's Bastion to Bethany Ter where there is an excellent restauarant called A La Carte which is also very reasonable price wise. There is a nice bar Isoabella directly opposite. A visit to the war bunker on Gellert Hill is also a good day out if you don't mind the walk up to the top.
The Pest side is less attractive, a typical city, although the Parliament Buildings, Jewish Quarter, Danube Cruise, St Stephens Basilica, Heroes Square and Margaret Island are all worth a visit.
The number 16 bus from Elizabeth Square will drop you at the door of the hotel.

My family and I (including 2 young children) have just returned from a 6 day visit to Budapest. We stayed at the Burg Hotel. We recommend it to anyone who intends to visit the Buda area or who want to be in the centre, yet peaceful location. We will surely recommend this hotel to all our friends who intend to stay at Budapest. Educated and helpful receptionists, (English speaking), very clean rooms, good breakfast, good connections...

This small three star hotel is simply superb in its class! Location is unbeatable, just opposite the historic St Matthias Church in the Buda Castle district main square which is always packed with tourists during the day, but at night is quiet and romantic.
We loved this hotel with friendly staff who spoke good English.
The hotel manager Mr. Lajos Serenyi was very helpful providing us with good advice and his professionalism was extremely pleasant. Thank you, Lajos!
Look no further – this hotel has it all!
We’ll definitely be back to our favorite city and the Burg is the place to stay again.

“Great Value for the Location”

Not much more to add to other reviews. I got a great rate for four nights. The Castle district of Buda is great to walk around at night with all the buildings lit up like the Mattyas Church, Fisherman's Bastion, and the Palace. The only down side is that it's not as lively as the Pest side, but you can take the bus down the hill or walk as I did to Moskya Ter with its huge shopping mall that even has a disco and pubs open until late at night.

The rooms were large, with huge bathrooms by European standards. The staff were professional, some more friendly than others, including the older gentleman on the night shift.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Burg. With 2 young children, this hotel is a great value for the price. The location is excellent. Across from the Mathias Church and Fishermen Bastillion. What more can you ask for!
Transportation is not an issue, right outside the front door. Breakfast was good nothing to jump about. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel for families with young children.
