We have recently spent a short vacation in Budapest and stayed at the Inn Side Hotel. Although situated in a side street on the first floor, first impressions might not be favourable but don't be fooled . This hotel offers good clean traditional accommodation with very friendly staff who go out of their way to provide help and information. It is ideally situated between the Great Market Hall and the Vaci utca, a short walk to the river and all the pleasure craft, and a lovely evening stroll to all the restaurants. Metro tickets can be purchased at the hotel but don't do as we did and forget to stamp your ticket before you start your journey. The metro inspectors are very 'severe' and unpleasant. We would also recommend purchasing a Green Bus Hop on - Hop off ticket. We found this excellent value. It will get you round to all the places of interest and also includes a Danube cruise!! Try this hotel for value, cleanliness and friendliness

I have just made my 7th booking at this hotel which is well-located, near a metro station and bus and tram routes. It's a short walk from the central market and the Danube, in a relatively quiet street. Rooms are tastefully furnished and spacious, with modern bathrooms. The busy breakfast room is airy and the buffet table is replenished efficiently by friendly waiting-on staff. (No cooked food is served, except for boiled eggs.)

If you want a snack or drink at any time of day, you will be served in a small seating area next to reception, which opens out onto a small balcony.

There is free use of the computer in the breakfast room.

For me this hotel is simply the best: well- located, very comfortable, with helpful staff; it's friendly and relaxing. Looking forward to my next stay in November.

If you are looking to save money and want to be in tourist area, this hotel is OK. The rooms are spacious, but the beds are like sleeping on a slab of concrete, and I couldn't get the windows open to get some fresh air. The service was pleasant and helpful when I had to leave early in the morning (before they started breakfast) they made me a sandwich to go!

Great place! The rooms (we stayed in two different ones and had friends in others) are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is hearty and fresh and the location is convenient. The staff is really helpful with lots of tourist information. Good restaurants are around the corner, the fabulous central market is a block away and the Danube just two more. Trams to the center of Budapest are also minutes away. If you're traveling in August, DO book a room with AC. The others may have a nice balcony overlooking the garden, but we were really happy to be able to cool off and sleep well.
