We loved this pension because the staff were all friendly, spoke English, the room was nice with a balcony and view, it was easy to get to downtown Budapest, the breakfast was nice, and the price was right.

Pleasant hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Balcony a great plus as is the breakfast in the garden and the good coffee. The rooms are looking out dated and the bathroom with the plastic shower curtain was a disappointment as was the choice at the buffet breakfast . Regretfully the weather was very hot and a portable fan inadequate , the room temperature was 27°c and with no shutters / dark curtains at the window the light in the morning with the heat took the enjoyment out of our stay.

We stayed at the Helios with our 2 daughters in early August for 4 nights, sampling both an apartment and double room between us. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms good value and very clean and the location in the Buda hills in a quiet residential area. As has been said the SAS club restaurant is a few minutes walk away and offers an extensive menu with an English translation at a very reasonable price. Normally the 8 bus runs direct to Budapest but during our stay this had temporarily (due to roadworks en route) been replaced by the 8A to the 59 tramstop (15 mins to Moscow Square). Buses and trams run very frequently and we found the 3 day travelcard very useful and probably better value for us than the Budapest card. We also were very pleased that we had arranged a direct pick up from the airport via the hotel which worked well. We found this hotel met all our needs and it was nice to be in a cooler quieter environment after a day in the city centre, but still within easy reach. Would definitely return again.

Within walking distance to several really nice restaurants, and a 3 minute walk to the bus stop, you cannot ask for a better location. The views are really nice as well. The rooms were a fairly good size and very clean. The front desk staff were extrememly helpful when it came to directions and what to see. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone. You wont be disappointed.
