I was in Budapest on a pleasure trip , we got a very nice room whice was on the top of the building and to the back yard --good and quite.
the hotel is located very convenient and near the Centr.

I was in Budapest on a leasure trip with my mother and it was a very disapointing experience. The hotel staff was rude and the small attentions that are basic in other hotels were inexistant in this one. I asked a staff member for clean glasses after 3 days of drinking juice in the same ones and I was refused the service. We missed out on soap because they never replaced it after the first day and I was equally refused some more. When I asked directions for an internet café near by, the employee at the reception pointed on a map a place that would open in a year! It was very helpfull! This was by far the worst hotel I have stayed in all the years I have travelled and I will certainly never recommend it. Loving a city begins with a good experience at the hotel, thus it was not the case this time.

After reading the one negative review by the group from London, we were not sure how we would find this hotel which had been chosen by our tour wholesaler. We found the staff very competent and pleasant and the surroundings very much to our liking. We were given a standard size room facing the inner courtyard which was very quiet given that the hotel's front facade faced a major street.

The dining room was beautiful and large with art nouveau decor and a pianist most nights. The food was so good, we eat supper there 2 out of the 3 nights during our stay.

One main attraction was the P.C. located in the lobby that got a real workout from all the guests trying to book the next segment of their vacations over the web.

We were also impressed with the fact that this hotel chain offered 4 levels of prices for the rooms depending on the different cancellation policies.

We would definitely choose this hotel again, which is also about 200 feet from a nearby subway stop.

My partner, myself and some friends travelled to Budapest for our Christmas break and thought the Novotel would be a great place to stay. On a limited budget as it was we thought we would pay for a quality hotel. The hotel itself was nice and the location was very suitable however we found the staff to be rude and un-helpful. We were unable to get access to the resteraunt over the 5 days we were there and when asking for any help or suggestions we were told nothing. We were ignored when trying to talk to staff and told the resteraunt was booked on numerous occassions and when walking past at numerous stages through the evening it was empty! When asking for directions we were also pointed in the wrong way which is something we found odd from a hotel tourist desk??
Whether it was that we were a group of mid 20's that got us treated this way or that this is how all guests were treated, it definitely took the excitement off our Christmas vacation. We are all proffesionals working in London and after saving our money for our first trip we were very dissapointed to be treated this way.
We will not be reccomending this hotel to any of our friends or family which is a shame.
