“Awful service, noisy room, disaster bed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2014

Do not go!!! Poor installations, big noisy highway right in front, windows don't protect neither from noise nor from the light. The bed was king size as told and really they were two separate beds with the middle part lower than the sides, the pillow was very cheap 20 years ago when they bought it and now it consists of many separate balls which fall apart if you try to put them together so not very useful. Night service receptionist rude and badly educated. Among other things neither him nor the night guard helped me with suitcases while carrying three big ones alone and it was not easy at all.

This is a nice hotel and a good location for the city centre as the Metro is only a few minutes walk away. Our room was large and comfortable and quiet despite being situated by an 8 lane road! The reception staff were friendly. The breakfast was good but the waitresses were constantly clearing plates away from your table! If you went up for more food you could come back and find someone sitting at your table as it had been cleared! There were no decent restaurants near the hotel but it is only 5 stops on the Metro to the city centre. I would recommend buying a cheap weekly travel card even if only staying a few days as it allows unlimited travel on the Metro , trams and buses, including the 200E Airport bus. The Natural History Museum is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel and is a good place to visit after checking out of the hotel as the Museum will look after your luggage whilst visiting.

I would not recommend to anyone to stay at this hotel, since it's crew are impolite, hotel's interior is ugly and it is far from city center. We arrived at 9:30 AM and we had to sit in the very old-fashioned lobby up to 3 PM until they checked us in. The room was dilapidated and very noisy that we couldn't open the window. anAlthough we had a pre-paid reservation for about 300$ for 3 nights, but rude crews, shocking-noisy room forced us to run a few minutes later to another hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at this comfortable hotel. The breakfast was excellent with a wide buffet choice. The staff were helpful, the room clean and comfortable and after a lot journey, it was very relaxing to arrive. The systems worked efficiently and I would definitely consider staying there again next time I'm in Budapest.

We only stayed here because it's a block from the main bus station and we needed to catch an early bus for the airport in Vienna.

The hotel is definitely tired and a time warp. But for one night it was fine. The bed was comfortable enough and the room clean enough, and for the price we paid, we can't complain.

Needed a room urgently one night to get early bus from station down the road. Had no choice but to stay in Tulip Inn. We found the hotel staff incredibly rude and unhelpful. They held an attitude and were condescending in the way they spoke to us. We feel that we were charged an excess amount for our room and were only allowed pay with cash, and when we asked for a receipt we were refused it. The entire operation was very unprofessional. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here: Don't.
The room was filled with the sounds of ambulance sirens and traffic from the nearby busy road all night. A sandwich we bought in the restaurant was almost inedible and came with ice cold chips. The standard at the Tulip Inn is similar to that of a prison, and should be avoided at all costs.

You get what you pay for. A decent breakfast. In some distance from the city center. Stayed one night before the flight back home. Make sure you are asking a Quiet room. They should give you a room with windows to the inner parking. The other side is a noisy motorway.

Room Tip: Make sure you are asking a Quiet room. They should give you a room with windows to the inner parking...
