“Not the best room but convienient location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Fantastic location - just outside train station and kind and friendly staff at the front desk, but apart from that rooms were old and stuffy with v bad air conditioning, no wifi and beds were not very comfortable, breakfast was not very pleasent with limited selection of stodgy pasteries and cereals - not even a toaster. However the location was very useful for our stay as we were just arriving in budapest and the service of the staff was appreciated also we had a very beautiful view of budapest from our window which was great.

This hotel could not be better placed if you are using the Keleti Station and the metro is right outside. The street setting is unprepossessing but once through the street door the building is interesting, with the hotel at the top. General feel of the hotel is a little tired, it needs a makeover. Staff are correct but, in my experience, not particularly helpful. I asked for an early call but they couldn't manage to get it together.

Pros: spacious rooms, good location
Cons: AC in the rooms don't cool off. The first room we were given would just blow warms air, we requested to be moved and the guy at the front desk said we would have to wait until the next day for maintance to check it. We waited until the evening and luckily the new receptionist agreed to move us, new room's AC was slightly better but not sufficient.
They run out of breakfast items pretty early (before 9) and twice I asked the server if she would refill and she said no.
Carpet is filthy, full of stains in the rooms and hallways.
Bathrooms don't have basic toiletries, all they provide is a foamy substance that you are supposed to use as soap and shampoo.

Due to the fact that I was arriving by train to Budapest-Keleti station (don't get confused with the other big train station, Budapest-Nyugati), I decided to stay at this hotel because it's just in front of the station.
The area around is neither nice nor ugly, it's just normal or, better said, convenient, given that there is the said train station, also a metro station, several bus stops and fast-food restaurants.
The main tourist attractions can be reached on foot but you will still have to walk at least half an hour. It is then better to take the buses or the underground (you can buy a 24h ticket for all public transportation which is very useful and not expensive).
In regards to the hotel, this consists of two floors at the top of a normal building.
Rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable.
The common areas are also clean and pleasant, and the guy at the reception spoke good English and was always very helpful. Something which for me is also very helpful is a computer for guests which, in this case, they have, just behind the reception.
The dinning room where breakfast is served is also next to the reception. However I have to say that the breakfast is quite basic, nothing special (no hot food).
Another thing that I didn't like either was that my room (#607) was just above the reception and very close to the elevator. This means that there is frequently a little bit of noise, therefore it is better to choose a room away from the reception and the elevator.
As a solo traveler I would stay here again but in case I came with my parents or my partner, I would probably check another place.

Room Tip: Don't stay at room 607 because you will hear some noise from the reception and the elevator

Right across from subway station and a main train station. Breakfast just ok. Very helpful front desk people. Our room was on the top floor with windows, but the view was blocked by the building's facade.

The reception staff was very chilled and I got the impression that he wanted to get rid of you quickly. Maybe it was a cultural difference - which isn't bad, it's not your typical (European) customer service. The breakfast staff were very friendly and hospitable.

The room and bathroom was spacious, clean and not too dated. The bed was very comfortable.

Keleti metro station is just a few steps from the building entrance. I would say that if it wasn't hot and uncomfortable during our stay the location IS walkable (average 30 mins walk) to the main sites.

The area is safe and there's building security too. Also, there's fast food chains, restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

Budapest is a lovely city with yummy food lively culture, but I probably wouldn't stay in this hotel in the summer months.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 6th floor towards the back of the building are quieter.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2015

This hotel is within easy walking distance to the more touristy parts of Budapest, or to the metro station if you prefer not to walk. The front desk staff was very helpful at all times with our questions and they stored our luggage after check out. We had booked a triple room for a family of three, but were upgraded somehow to a larger quadruple room which allowed us plenty of space to spread out and relax when we were at the hotel. Breakfast was good and our stay was more than adequate. Right across the street from the Keleti train station, so this is an excellent place if you are planning to use the train for arrival or departure. They will also arrange airport transfer if needed. We enjoyed ourselves here.
