“Close to Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Perfectly located, impeccable service from the first moment you enter. Why waste precious dollars on the Four Seasons when you have it all here. Excellent concierge service, breakfasts were above and beyond, rooms spacious. Both business and tourists get the best of attention. We even ate in one evening for a tasting dinner to tell you the extent to which we loved the hotel. Bravo staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room and/or view of the square.

Great location for our base to explore the city. Especially during Xmas market time. The market literally starts downstairs.
Room spacious. We had one overlooking the park. You could see the new year fireworks from the window.

Stayed 2 nights at Le Meridien, my first stay at this hotel. Beautifully decorated, clean, with genuinely friendly, helpful and polite staff. You know you're in a 5 star hotel the minute you step into the lobby.

I had a superior room that was wonderful. The bed, pillows, and comforter were soooo comfortable, I hated to get out of bed in the morning! There was a loveseat with pillows, coffee table, desk and chair, big flat screen TV with lots of different channels in several languages, minibar/fridge, selection of coffee and tea with hot water kettle, safe, and bathrobes and slippers.

The bathroom was large and spacious with heated floor, large bathtub with shower, as well as a separate shower cabin, toiletries, hair dryer, and even a scale. In addition, there was a speaker built into the ceiling of the bathroom, so if you had the TV on in the bedroom, you could hear it while in the bathroom. Pretty cool.

Each evening around 7:00, staff would come in and leave a small bottle of mineral water on the nightstand with a tag that said "compliments of Le Meridien". A nice touch.

Breakfast was great, hot and cold dishes, lots of selection and variety including made-to-order eggs and waffles. My room rate included breakfast, but if it's not, breakfast is expensive... 29 Euro. Service at breakfast is amazing. They see to all your needs and requests, whatever kind of coffee you wish is made just for you and brought in a small carafe to your table. By the way, the coffee was wonderful. Wish coffee was that good at other hotels.

The hotel enjoys a very central location, so it's close to just about everything. Deak Ter metro station (a central metro hub) is a 1 minute walk away, several bus lines stop across the street from the hotel, trams are about a block away, as well as numerous cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops. The Danube is a 5 minute walk as is the Basilica.

Hard to beat and highly recommend Le Meridien for comfort, location, and service if you can get a good rate. The hotel can be pricey but sometimes good deals are offered which was true in my case.

This is an excellent hotel, lovely decor and excellent rooms.
The restaurant represents good value and is of high quality.
The location is such that practically all Pest side attractions are within walking distance and it is only about 2 blocks back from the Danube.
Norbert, the concierge, is very helpful and has lots of advice on what and how to do things.
Given it is 10 minutes walk from the Opera house, tickets are recommended for an unforgettable experience.
Thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Higher side rooms are quieter

It's a great shame it was only for one night! I stayed here on business and it's really first class. The staff are superbly trained - impeccable English and manners. The building is beautiful and the location is perfect too. The rooms are excellent with wired and wireless internet but beware of the tempting wired up mini-bar.

The Bathrooms are very good with a full size bath and high quality shower. There are two bars one traditional and one contemporary and we tried both - both excellent. I didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast was excellent to.

I can't really fault it... I prefer this over the Corinthia... it's close but I prefer Le Meridien
