“Beautiful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

First time to Le Meridien in Budapest and what a treat. Wonderful location and the staff especially the concierge Norbert was fantastic, He gave us great tips about getting around and eating spots that were absolutely great. The room was absolutely wonderful, clean and very spacious. Had dinner one night at the hotels restaurant and it was cozy and the food was great. I consider this hotel a five star and would recommend it highly. The great thing about this hotel is that every tourist area is within walking distance and very safe to walk around no matter what time.

Room Tip: High floor back of hotel wonderful and quiet.

We have just returned from a 3 night mini break to Budapest. We stayed in le meridien after deciding from other trip advisor reviews that we liked it the most.
One word. AMAZING.

The hotel is so tastefully decorated, with marble everywhere. From the minute you walk in the staff cannot do enough for you. The reception and concierge staff were simply brilliant and recommended lots of activities, as well as providing and annotating a map for us. Especially friendly and helpful were Attila and Krisztien - a real credit to the hotel.
We visited the baths on our last day and had to check out before we went - the hotel provided us with a pack eacxh containing a towel, gown, slippers, and a shampoo/conditioner/moisturiser set to take with us. Little things make a big difference!

The room we stayed in was a standard double - if this is the case I can only imagine what the superior rooms are like. The bed was HUGE and extremely comfortable. The room was spacious, very quiet, and had all the amenities you could need. A good selection of tea and coffee is provided. The bathroom is gorgeous too, and again very spacious.

The spa area upstairs is great and free of charge for guests. There is a pool, a gym open 24 hours a day which has a very good range of machines, a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. We used it most evenings before going out for dinner and it was very relaxing. We also treated ourselves to a massage - some are quite expensive, we went for the 25 minute aromatherapy massage for £30 which is more than I would pay at home but nice when away.

The bar downstairs does excellent cocktails, although these are a bit overpriced (only negative comment!).

The location is PERFECT! Metro stop right outside, we are talking about a metre. The danube and chain bridge - 5 minute walk. Andrassy, one of the main streets, and st stephens basicila about 5 minutes walk. A variety of restaurants, cafe's and shops were also right on the doorstep.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough, I have paid two/three times the amount for inferior hotels in london - excellent value. Despite the fact we haven't stayed in Hungary before, we already know that if we returned, we would not stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: We stayed in a 'standard' double - there was nothing standard about it!! All the rooms seem...

Beautiful building just opposite of the

Doorman opens door, bellboys escort me to check-in. Very courteous check-in!

Pros:
+ Good location opposite the Erszebet Ter park
+ Good-sized room with plenty of amenities
+ Very good toiletries
+ nice bar with live jazz in the evenings
+ beautiful breakfast restaurant
+ the plethora of French balconies in the junior suite (in summertime)

Cons:
- the room needs some makeup here and there
- the tv in the room didn't work
- In January the spa was under maintenance, but the hotel let guests use the spa of the Kempinski next door
- The park view in winter ;) It must be lovely in summer

Room Tip: Corner room, as high as possible. The street isn't busy, but the balconry doors aren't top-n...

Superb luxury hotel in the heart of Budapest. Large rooms with wonderful bathrooms and huge comfortable beds. Location is excellent with metro stations on the door step and in the heart of the city with everything very close. Excellent service from all the staff who were all helpful and friendly. Only criticism I can come up with is that the pool was quite cold, but this really is nitpicking!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Square

Brilliant location, with metro stop 30 yards from front door which has all lines running through it. Number 16 bus (I think) stops right outside door and takes you up to castle area. 2 minute walk to St Stephens Bailica, good bars and restaurants in all directions. Also located next to good shopping area. Hotel itself was very good with staff who were excellent. Good bar/lounge, Good sized standard room. I'd highly recommend it and would stay there again.

The Le Meridien hotel in Budapest is in a superb location right in the heart of city, just a few metres from the Deak Ferenc metro interchange and Vorosmarty Square.

I got a terrific room rate but then also took advantage of a EUR40 room upgrade rate which included a EUR40 allowance for food and drink, whether breakfast (which alone is EUR29), bars, restaurant, room service and in-room mini-bar. The upgrade also included free wifi (normally EUR19 per day) and a winter stay also included free entry to one of the top city spas and other discounts. I am sure that, at other times of the year, the hotel can be quite an expensive luxury.

The upgraded room was very comfortable with large tv, desk, high-speed wired internet, coffee/tea, large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Decoration was in a calm and neutral traditional style.

Breakfast was comprehensive but pricey. The room service menu was wide-ranging and food was well prepared and high quality. The top-class Le Bourbon restaurant had some wonderful French and Arabic inspired dishes.

Staff across the whole hotel, including the doormen, reception, concierge, housekeeping, and in the restaurants and bars, were friendly, welcoming, courteous and helpful.

Although in a busy location, the hotel was calm and peaceful, with the exception of a rumble of underground trains although this didn’t extend into the night.

There seem to be many international top-class hotels in Budapest, but I don’t think they can beat Le Meridien’s location and doubt if their service is any better. Overall, this is a quality and friendly establishment and is thoroughly recommended for business and leisure travellers alike.

Visited here for a long weekend in January, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We used some Starwood Preferred Guest points to upgrade to an Executive Room, and the hotel very kindly upgraded us to an Executive Suite to ensure that our stay met with our requirements! The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We were celebrating a special anniversary and Gabor Redling, Reservations Manager not only provided the upgrade, but also sent champagne and chocolates as a gift. Thank you Gabor. The hotel is 5 star and beautifully decorated. We tried breakfast and while there was plenty to choose from at 25 euros, felt it was a bit expensive. The hotel is a wee bit more expensive than others, but is well placed for shopping, being in the fashion district and well worth the extra. Try 2 for 1 cocktails in the White Room at 5.00pm

Room Tip: Ask for Room 826, its beautiful, and one of the best in the hotel, facing Erzsebet Square, witha vie...
