“Awesome, awesome, awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2011

Stayed in Room 633, from 13 - 17 February with my partner. Only one word to describe this hotel - AWESOME!

Nothing beats the location of hotel be it for public transport to get around or to have a good meal.

The yellow line is just outside the hotel door step! And we took the yellow line metro to Szechenyi Bath, Hero Square, Andrassy, Parliament House and the trams to the Great Market Hall. Fashion avenue is right behind the hotel and you can find several international brands (H&M, Hugo Boss, Springfield and many others) there.

For those who are interested to sign up for Hop on Hop off kind of tour bus, the main stop is just outside the hotel.

Many food places near the hotel. We had our Valentine's Day dinner at Replay Cafe, located behind the hotel and the food was good. There is also a decent coffee chain, Coffee Heaven, for a good cuppa and pastries/sandwiches.

The staff at Le Meridien Budapest is extremely helpful and had all our queries answered especially with directions to take the tram to the Great Market Hall and walk to Gellert Hill.

It is genuine service that made our stay extra memorable. Regardless of who you approach at the reservation, concierge or even the housekeeping staff, they will give you the most sincere service.

We were looking for local food and one of the front desk staff wrote us a list of local food and pastries that we can try. Apologies couldn’t recall his name but he is a handsome Hungarian fellow with a warm smile. (I think his name is Aria, my apologies if I got your name wrong. But I am very sure the management will know who he is. He really made our stay in Budapest extra special with his smile and patience!)

We took the list, headed to the Great Market Hall and tried almost everything on the list!

We love the decor of the room. Spacious, classy and comfortable. There's wired internet access in the room and it's quite fast. We cannot stress enough the importance of having access to Internet in this modern era and it is certainly good to know that Le Meridien in Budapest offers this basic service.

It snowed during our stay there. The view from our room made it even more romantic when we looked out and saw the snow covered St. Stephen's Basilica and park.

We stayed in 3 Starwood hotels during this 15 days tour of Prague, Vienna and Budapest. We have to say, Le Meridien Budapest was the most excellent hotel during this entire trip! Looking back, we wished we had allocated more days at the Le Meridien Budapest.

We will definitely recommend this hotel to our family and friends!

We found this hotel on Expedia. It is an a great central location in Pest near St. Stephen's, and the shopping district.

The room as big, bed comfortable and nice bathroom with seperate shower and tub. We faced on pedestrain street on the back on the sixth floor. The room was very quiet.

The comcierge staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They confirmed a car reservation to the airport, suggested restaurants and made reservations and were very helpful with maps and directions. They suggested we rent a car for the trip to Estergom which was much better than taking the train. It also allowed us to stop at the small village of St. Andrew and to visit the medieval castel at Vicehrad

As you can see in the rating we rate this hotel as a top hotel. Only downside was that we travelled on the weekend before their national holidays so there where not so much life in the restaurant but it was the same everywhere. Will come back!

They seemed to have thought of everything and we were shown to our suite and everything explained, so we felt at home. The beds and pillows were so comfortable that we didn't think about getting back to our owh bed. Also the maid tidied and cleaned, but left things we were using where we had left them, a rare treat!
The food was good, breakfast selection about right and the dinner was first class.

We fancied a late wedding anniversary break without the children - but not too far from them - but also to somewhere neither of us had been before. I looked on Expedia and found the le Meridien. We had stayed in a le Meridien in Thailand on honeymoon 15 years ago so this seemed a great choice, what with it being 5 star and city centre. It was the right choice. In all honesty, I would find it difficult to find fault with this hotel as it well deserves it's five stars, located in the centre of the city (Pest side) near to public transport hub and the Danube. The staff were fantastic, the room (Hungary still allows smoking inside so book a non-smoking floor) was great with sep. shower and bath, enormous comfortable bed, desk (high speed free internet connection so I could video Skype the children), sitting area and wide screen TV. We did not use the pool or eat in the hotel as we wanted to explore Budapest but a night cap in the bar was always accompanied by a wonderful jazz trio (only downside was smoking in the bar, but that is allowed in Hungary so there is little the hotel can do to stop it). A great hotel and thanks to the staff.

I've been travelling to Hungary and staying at Le Meridien Budapest 2-3 times a month on business since 2009 and I am a very critical, pretty discerning consumer. I am usually very tired when I arrive late at night and it gives me an enormous boost when I am warmly welcomed by name and shown to my room within a couple of minutes. Without being cheesy it really does feel like coming home. The staff all seem to know me and are unfailingly polite and helpful.
I've stayed so many times that I know exactly what will be in my room by way of decent hairdrier, toiletries, cotton wool etc that packing is really easy. The rooms are always very clean and comfortable and the bedding is very light and warm which helps me get to sleep.
Business trips like this can get to be tedious but if you have a really delicious breakfast (buffet with huge choice including lots of fresh fruit and juices, cold continental fish, meat and cheeese and hot selection with eggs cooked to order) to look forward to and good room service if you have to write a report in your room, it really helps.

The location is excellent next to Deak Square metro and backing on to Fashion Street.

If you like jazz there is a very good trio playing in the bar each evening and they make a mean Tanqueray and tonic!

Had a wonderful stay at Le Meridien,my friend and I went for our 50th's so it was a celebration for us. Staff treated us so well, had birthday cake that had been prepared in the kitchens, delicious!. Ate in the Hotel resturant on our birthdays and we were not disappointed, excellant!!. Wonderful hotel ,so very elagent and spacious. One little moan about rooms though, carpet could be refurbished as looked quite old and worn . Everything else though was beautifully clean and comfortable. Thank you Le Meridien for a great experience, will come again.
