Yesterday me and my husband had to come back to the UK from the lovely break in Budapest. It was so sad to go... Fantastic wine, food, architecture, spas... What else you could dream of? We have stayed in this hotel for three days and enjoyed it all the way through. The room was spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was just nice, simple and fresh (you could find something for every taste: fresh fruit, bacon, scrambled egg, cereals, youghurts, different types of cheese and etc.). We have visited on our last night hotel's restaurant for a dinner. They had live music in the restaurant almost everyday which was very atmospheric, though I have to admit, that the food was nice, but it was more tourist oriented. We didn't feel the athenticity of the Hungarian dishes there and the prices were, of course, higher than in any other local restaurant. We wouldn't recommend to go there unless you are very tired. The swimming pool, gym, sauna open from 7am till 9pm, sometimes even till 10pm. Everything there is clean and not over crowded. We would definetly come back to the place!!!! Loved it!!

We booked this having read other reviews and were sadly disappointed. On arrival we were told that there were no rooms available, this despite having booked 10 weeks previously. It is not a long flight but having to move hotels, unpack, pack and transfer back effectively meant a day lost on our trip. It seems that you arrive at this hotel after 6pm (we arrived at 7pm) at your own risk, that was the only explanation we were given for being moved. We were transferred for one night only to the Gellert (wish we had chosen that!) and returned the following day to be allocated a room which was uninhabitable due to the overpowering stench of stale tobacco smoke. I cannot emphasise enough just how bad it was, far worse than your average bar on a Friday night. We were eventually given another room but it was in our opinion very dingy and although not as bad as the previous room still smelt stale. I know this sounds snobbish, but it is not what we are used to. Breakfast was poor and put us off having dinner in the hotel, nice little restaurant/bar around the corner fortunately. Budapest is a lovely city, just use a different hotel!

Stayed here 18-21 May 2005.
Double room payed £130 for 3 nights B&B after much searching on web, can't get vexed at the price.
The hotel is in Buda, when we return will look for a hotel in Pest, more atmosphere, clubs, bars resturaunts etc, saying that the transport links are good, as long as you don't mind passing numerous derelicts on your way to the tram terminous, in our experience these were totally passive and did not approach us.
The hotel room was spotless, in our view the most important feature of any hotel. The decor and furnishings are dated but the rooms are spacious and functional.
Breakfasts are superb with plenty of choice and attentive staff.
My rating of three is based on the hotels 4 star official rating, had it been a 2 star my rating would have been higher

The title says it all! Basically this hotel is not filled with quirky charm, nor does it have amazing views or any unique selling point. It is however a good 4 star hotel at a very good price. We paid £60 a night through hotelhungaryonline for 4 nights in May. The room was a good standard double, bathroom was spotless and bed linen clean. I am super fussy about bathrooms and bedding and couldn't find any fault other than that the shower was not a power shower. The mini bar was well stocked. Breakfast was good and included in the price. The first night we arrived at 10pm, but they still served us dinner in the restaurant and it was pretty good for a hotel dinner. The location is not central but it is easy to get into the centre on one of 5 trams which run every few minutes and it was pleasant to come back to. Its only 5 - 15 minutes by tram to all the main sites and only a 2-3 minutes from the Gellert baths. The pool, gym and sauna were good and clean. There is a spar supermarket within 10 minutes walk for water, crisps etc. The Hemmingway restaurant in the park which the hotel overlooks was FANTASIC and worth a visit. £40 for a three course meal for two with a bottle of wine, a beer, ouzo and a digestif. Not the cheapest in Hungary but the food was amazing and the service immpecable. We transfered to the hotel with the HotelOnlineHungary transfer service, at 5000ft each way between two is was only a little more expensive that the airport minibus with the advantages of no waiting, no other stops, a driver who gave us a scenic tour on the way to the hotel and no problem getting back on time for the return flight. The car was also spotlessly clean and the driver very polite.

Overall, we loved Budapest and if we went back we would use this hotel again without a doubt.

Just returned yesterday from the flamenco park. stayed 3 nights. Overall I found the room to be clean and a good size. the staff at the hotel were always polite friendly and helpful. The only reason i didnt rate this hotel higher was the breakfast was not brilliant, but probably usual for this price band of hotel
